Is there a thread all about My Disney Experience?

I have a few questions about My Disney Experience and I can't seem to find a thread about it already. Can someone find me a link?

Specifically I'm wondering about having all the people in my party (husband, kids, and my parents) in my account, and if that means I'm the only one who can schedule things for them. Or if my parents shouldn't be in my account.

Also, I'm having a problems with the app (won't always open) AND the website (keeps asking me to log in, then won't let me view my plans).

I'm happy to read through an already established thread, just can't find one! Thanks!

1. Or if my parents shouldn't be in my account.

2. Also, I'm having a problems with the app (won't always open) AND the website (keeps asking me to log in, then won't let me view my plans).
1. I'd do a separate account for anyone you think may not always be traveling with you.
But, it's not a major concern, either way.
(You can give other members of your party your MDX password and each
can then have access to "make plans.")

2. Hah! That's something so common that it's almost a FEATURE!

I've been having the same issues with the website, especially when I'm using Firefox or Chrome. The only time I can get it to (somewhat) work is if I use IE.

Any MDE threads all end the same way. Moderators have to close them down after persistent cursing and angry posts. LOL
It's too bad because the app is designed to work quickly and without much effort, just the execution doesn't work out.

I am also in this same boat although my situation is OP’s x6. I am planning a trip for my husband and I, plus our 5 adult children and daughters/sons in law, 5 grandchildren and my elderly mother. Total=17 ppl.

First, MDE is not working or linking for most of us despite 3 lengthy calls to Disney. Our FP window is coming up and i’m Hoping to have all the bugs out by then but parts of it seem to be there one day and then be gone the next? I will keep trying for a few more days but WWYD?

Second, I need some FP advice. We will need a variety of FP’s, kid rides and adult rides. Is it best to task each family member with booking FP’s for, let’s say 1/2 the family, 8-9 ppl, for just a few rides? All of my kids are A personalities and would typically want to be “on it” so as to insure success. But I don’t know if we should split it up this way? Here’s how it would go:

Family 1 goes for 8FP’s for FOP
Family 2 goes for 8 FP’s for FEA
Family 3 goes for 12 FP’s for PPF
Etc.

Or, is it better to have each family get their own FP’s trying for a slot/window near a previously designated time, and then hoping for overlap?

Or, can I hire a professional, not my travel agent as she has messed up a few things already, to get all the FP’s for us? This sounds like a great option although with 17 people there are a lot of FP’s to get ...might not be doable by one person? And where would I find this person?

Please HELP ME? This trip is supposed to be for me for my 60th birthday present and i’m Pulling my hair out!!!

Divide and conquer seems the most sensible course of action to me. Let each adult child make some of the FPs would ensure greater success to my way of thinking.

As for the MDE problem I wouldn't depend on it to make FPs or ADRs if it's acting wonky; just use your laptop or tablet instead via your browser NOT the app.If your browser version which tends to be more stable if it isn't working I would be on the phone constantly with IT until it was fixed.

HTH

To answer your main question
No, there is not a thread all about MDE

To answer your secondary question
It's just a glitchy app and website and it's just the way it functions, badly. Sadly.

I personally forbid anyone in my immediate family from having their own MDE account. They will never travel to Disney without me. I am always the primary planner. They have no reason whatsoever to have their own account. Linked MDE accounts cause more problems than they fix. For this reason I see no reason for any adult members of my group to have their own account.

Forbid is such a strong word...LOL! But at the same time, with SOME of my family members, I could see the fear of them completely screwing up all the FPs because they think they know better...

Also try opening up an incognito window to access the website, that usually helps:thumbsup2

And one more thing, if you've gone in and out too many times on the website and use Chrome then it's usually beneficial to clear your Disney Cookies. Here's the directions:

Here's a trick to clear cookies and other data on Chrome that applies only to the Disney site. Navigate to disneyworld.disney.go.com using Chrome and hit F12 after the site loads. No need to sign in. This brings up the Chrome debugger. From the debugger, find the "Application" tab at the top and click it. Now from the Application section find "Clear storage". Click that, scroll to the bottom and select "Clear site data". This is effectively the same action as the global Chrome clear cookies, but only applies to the Disney site. Hit refresh and proceed.

This is WHY incognito works. It’s loading without all of the previous baggage.

Thanks Brett, I know that but sometimes it's nice not to have to use incognito so you don't have to toggle back and forth between live tabs and your incognito tabs, so this is another option.

Gotta toggle between tabs no matter what, right?
Don't know but to me I find using incognito to be way easier than all those other steps. But at least there are several options at any rate.

No @AngiTN if you're on a computer as I am I just click on the tab I want, no toggling. I guess maybe different on a phone? I don't do stuff on a phone, I need my computer screen. :)

Same difference. Clicking on a tab is the same thing as toggling in my world.
Clicking on the incognito tab is no different than clicking on the regular browser tabs
That's what I mean

I'm trying to think through some strategy with MDE myself.

We're going with 2 other couples, so total of 6 people. Each couple has its own resort reservations, so each couple will need an MDE account.

But if they all want me to get FPs together, how do we do that? I think we'd have to link MDE accounts but how do we do that? And once we're linked, can I just book all FPs at the same time?

Also we've got gold APs so I think we get the Memory Maker. If we link MDE accounts, will all of their PhotoPass photos get linked to our account?

You send an invite out to each account owner to share plans
Yes, once shared, you will share photos
