Is there a surcharge to add dining plan after pkg paid off?

My DH has decided that he wants to add the dining plan to our paid-off package. We are under the 45 day mark though. I know I can add it up just before I arrive, but I wasn't sure if there would be a surcharge. One cast member I spoke with on the phone said yes, and one said no. Hopefully I can get a tie-breaker answer here! TIA!

I think there technically might be one, but they never charge you for upgrading and giving them more money as far as I know. They would waive the fee if it exists. You do need to add it at least a day or two or three in advance (not sure, I think it varies slightly for DVC vs regular packages).

I don't believe there is. When I booked my last trip for 2014 I booked the dining plan but several families traveling with us did not as there were waiting to see if free dining woudl be released for late August. It never was and I think they were able to add it on with out any additional fee but the cost of the plan.

There's a change fee, but that's usually waived when the price increases. There may be an expedite fee if you wait too long. And the dining plan must be added at least 72 hours prior to arrival.

Technically there is a $50 change fee that can be charged when changes are made to the package within 45 days of arrival, but it is usually waived if your new package total increases. If your package total goes down it is applied. Also, if you make changes within 14 (or it might be 10) days of arrival there is a $15 paperwork fee that will be charged regardless of the new package total. Since you are within 45 days any additional cost must be paid at the time you add the dining plan.

The dining plan must be added no later than 3 days before arrival for CRO packages and 2 days when booking through the DVC office.

Thanks everyone. We'll make our decision by this weekend then. We arrive early August so we should be all set. Just wish he had said this when I started the planning! It is not as if I didn't ask for his input! Lol ...
