Is there a song that you misheard the lyrics?

my brother used to think that "I Miss You Like Crazy" was "I Wish You Liked Gravy" !!!
Was sooo funny.

I always thought in the song about Tequila that thay were saying Velvetta instead of Tequila!

do you mean the song in the sandlot? its all just melody and then every so often goes tequila!! If so, it took me forever to figure that out too!

This just shows a generation difference. We were all in the car and my DH and I were playing an oldy's station. Here is what the kids were singing "Put another dime in the juicebox baby". Was hilarious, even after I explained it wasn't a juicebox, they still had never heard of a juke box.

Here's an 80's one:

Twlight World by Swing Out Sister-

"Don't be fooled by love songs and lonely hearts.."

I thought it was "Don't be fooled by love songs and lollipops."

My friend was choking with laughter when I told him this.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Mine was Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville....

I blew out my flip-flop
Stepped on a pop-tart

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, feeling REALLY stupid right now, I LOVE LOVE LOVE music and am really good at lyrics, I really thought this is what they say, what do they say?

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM:scared1:

The song Money, by Pink Floyd I think, I thought they were saying "My name" you would think the sound of change in the backgroung would have given me a clue, NOPE, I sang My Name as loud as can be, dh was Hysterical!!!!

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM:scared1:

Blew out my flip flop
Stepped on a pop top

I thought the same thing about AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds". A lot of classic rock songs have confusing lyrics and singers who you can't understand.

I knew about the "wrapped up like a douche" misheard lyrics of "Blinded By the Light" when I first heard it, so I knew that was incorrect. I'm proud to say that I know all of the nonsensical lyrics to that song now.

I still screw up on some songs even though I know the correct lyrics now, because I've been singing them incorrectly for so many years.

Ah, this one is from a friend. Jimmy Buffett's song "Pencil Thin Moustache"... my friend thought he was singing "I wish I had a Mexican moustache...".

I can screw up the simplest things, but I know all of the words to Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire". For reference, it's "rock & roll and cola wars" not "rock & roll and colour wars". And the video for this song reminds me of the Carousel of Progress. Look it up on YouTube or some such and you'll probably see it too.

I forced my son to listen to older songs when he was little.

"Rock the Boat"
So I'd like to know where you got the LOTION. (It was supposed to be notion.)

"Crazy" by Aerosmith
That kind of lovin makes me want to POO down the shade. :scared: (Supposed to be pull down the shade.)

This next one was my mistake and my son caught it.

"Sad Songs" by Elton John
And ironing out the ROSE BUDS. (Supposed to be "rough spots" and that makes more sense)

I'm sure I am not the only one who thought "Suicidal Blonde" was "Soup and Salad Bar"

I figured out that Elton John played for the other team when he sang, "Hold me closer Tony Danza."

I might think so too if I dont know that song so well.. I love Elton John.. My friend at work thinks Im crazy cause I  his songs.. :rotfl:

"Blinded by the light, wrapped up like a douche another owner in the night"

You just dont know how much you made me crack up!! I thought those were the lyrics.. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl:

What are the real ones?? :rotfl2: I cant control myself right now.. I am laughing so hard DD9 keeps looking over here at me.. :rotfl: :rotfl:

My friend begins singing Goldfinger, but it always ends up finishing as Moon River: Goldfinger, wider than a mile :rotfl:

Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic:

The line 'I believe that the heart does go on'

always sounds like:

'I believe that the hot dogs go on' :)

Oh & how about the lyrics to "louie Louis"
did anyone ever understand THAT song?:rotfl2:

(btw, didja know they have websites just for misunderstood lyrics??)

Aqualung by Jethro Tull: Sitting on a park bench, five little girls with battered heads. It should be "eyeing little girls with bad intents." I just found that out!

Also, Dave Matthews Band--the lyrics go "Hike up your skirt a little more" and I thought it was "Hike up your skirt little boy".:confused3

DH thought this, too! We always sing it this way now.

My sister thought Wham's "Wake me up before you go-go" was "Wake me up valley cocoa"

As a child I thought Tina Tuner was singing "What's Love cocka-doo, cocka-doodle it"

Also Bohemian Rhapsody at the end was though to be "Hit me where the wind blows..."

this made me laugh out loud!!:rotfl:

Yes, there's a song that says "dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap" and I thought it was "dirty deeds and the thunder chief" the first time I heard it.

LOL! That's exactly how my DH thought the song went :lmao:
