Is there a site that a non-DVC person can use to check for availability on a resort?

I am working through a potential contract purchase right now.

With the extended wait times, etc from Disney, I am thinking I may get some response and close the transaction in mid Oct.
This is cutting it close with my potential (crosses fingers) trip to Disneyland in June.
I cannot honestly sell this to my wife if I cannot get a room.
I know VGC reservations are impossible past the 6 month mark. So I am cutting it close.
Is there some way I can monitor the availability of these rooms as a non DVC member?

Thank you again,
NR

There is some sort of site...i cant remeber it, but it's really not 100 percent accurate and I think they charge you. List wait until you close on your contract so you can have access to the dvc resort available tool RAT

Honestly you are not going to get vgc unless it’s at the 7 month mark and it’s a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom. Even 1 day past the 7 month you will not get it.

I spent money on one and watched for months before I purchased to make sure I would be able to do what I wanted to do with my SSR points. I found it quite accurate and helpful then. I'm not sure it means much right now, with a gazillion extra points floating around.

Even with the resort closed and no plans to open, it is booked solid through the end of the year. There are a few days here and there with 1BR/2BR. And there's a weekend in Sept in a studio that I'm sure will be gone before I finish typing this. Dec literally has a 2BR on 12/23 open and that's it.

Right now, June is wide open except GV. But this will be gone the minute it opens up to 7mo. Maybe rent points for this year?

The most accurate will be as a DVC owner, We also don’t allow posts of specific availability here as it changes regularly, sometimes within the hour.

But, as mentioned, VGC is popular and hard to get, If that is where you want to be, owning there is the best thing you can do.

ETA: Just a friendly reminder that giving hints to help someone find a site that is in the boards filter is not allowed. Thank you.

I too use the paid site even though I could just use the member portal. The paid site is just quicker and has a better overall view to see availability for all resorts at once. I used it for a few years as a renter before we purchased and Its always been 100% accurate for us. It does a pull at intervals so of course there will be a time where the member site may be more up to date, but we are talking minutes not hours.

There are but it is hard to determine how accurate they are. Rental websites tend to have booking availability tools.

Just to give you an idea, it was the end of January when I did a resale offer and I didn't get my member information/points until the end of June. So go in expecting it will be a sold 5 months before you can make a reservation.

I agree. My offer was accepted 22nd April & my points still aren't loaded. So October is unlikely unfortunately.

Even if you can can keep on eye on availability, what will it help you if you can't book? As others mention, pretty much just assume you won't get VGC, and just assume the points will need to be used elsewhere. If you don't go in with that viewpoint / expectation, you will most likely be sorely disappointed. Expect that, and if it's available, just see it as a bonus, pleasant surprise, and you will be much happier.

Good Luck to closing on time and getting the room / unit you want, you just never know, even if chances are slime to none.

Great3
