We will be coming off the ship with a suitcase full of dirty laundry (don't really want to deal with it on board - it's one of the places on the ship where there is too much stress)...

Anyway, after the cruise we will be going to my brother's - then to WDW the next day... Looking for a laundry mat near Port - so we can get all of our laundry done before we go to my brother's in Ocala.

Thanks in advance for your help...

::MickeyMo There are washers and dryers on the ship. The best time to use them is early in the am; however, they probably won't be available the day you disembark.Just bring a roll of quarters, detergent tablets and dryer sheets with you. Then you'll have it done and can enjoy your day at WDW !::MinnieMo

We tried that on the last cruise - ended up drying clothes at 2am...I was a zombie by then - so we are looking at an alternative on land.....I was hoping someone would know of a laundry mat nearby

Wow, I think a laundromat is a great idea! We're doing WDW before and after our cruise and I was trying to decide whether to spend time at our resort doing laundry or to do it on the ship, but going to a laundromat enroute from the ship to WDW sounds like a great idea! We'll have a rental car so it should be easy for me to go in, do all the loads at once (cheaply!) while DH and the kids go to McDonald's or something, then head to WDW to resume our vacation.

Thanks for the great idea--now, hopefully someone can help us locate a laundromat! :) If not, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find one via switchboard.com or the yellow pages when we get down there.

If you do a search at yellowpages.com use "laundry" for the business name and port canaveral, fl for the location and you will find some hits in Cocoa Beach and Merritt island.

Hope this helps.

Cape Launromat is right next door to the Moon Hut less than 1/4 of a mile South of the Radisson on the Beach side - the lady in there is super nice and they do have a clean place tho you may not think so from the outside - LaRosa's is on the corner of 520 and A1A - it takes a day or two to get your stuff back - they do your laundry for you and it is reasonable - the next closest place is about 4 and a half miles from the Radisson heading South and close to Roberto's restaurant and also the beach - all in all, I would suggest Cape Laundromat.
Anyhow if I can help further, just let me know or email me.
Always
Shirley

Thanks, Shirley. What we plan to do is do it ourselves, ideally some place with enough washers and dryers that we can throw in about three loads at once and perhaps with a store or something adjacent to entertain the kids while we knock out the laundry. Which one would be best for that?

Is cape laundry a place that you can do it yourself also or only have the staff do? (Sometimes there are places that do both)?

Thanks, MKY princess:

mkymouse4ever - from Shirley's post, I would say Cape is coin op; LaRosa's is the full service laundry - hopefully someone will confirm for you....

Dave, being geographically challanged  I appreciate the map!:jumping1:

Hi,
I meant to stop by the Cape laundry today, but just wasn't feeling up to par tho I will try for tomorrow.
They do have someone there that will wash, dry and fold your clothes for you for a small amount extra - to me it is worth it - I have used them before and always found them to be very honest so that is about it until I post tomorrow.

Dave you are so great to so many - the new Publix will open in July - will keep you posted.
Always
Shirley
