Is there a "good" place to sit for the Fantasmic show?

I couldn't find this info anywhere. We are going 26-28th Feb and that's the only show. Is there a better place to sit? When to start to wait? Thanks!

Good place, right in front on the edge of the Rivers of America. That's the BEST place. You can try to get a table at RiverBelle Terrace but with the foot traffic I'm not sure how good it would be. Another place is the walkway over Pirates, people line up there too.

We sat just to the left of the Kodak sign in front of the Rivers of America...it was *perfect*! We got to see everything and didn't get wet!

We just saw it for the first time and I was highly confused. They have a bunch of CMs in yellow shirts to help. There are two tall silver poles with speakers on them and sitting the most to the center of those are supposedly the best view. They rope off the areas next to the fences as sitting areas. You just walk under the ropes and sit where there is space. Having a towel to mark out your space is very helpful. People stand behind as well and right before the show starts they take down the ropes and move the standers right behind the sitters. We got there 30 mins early and found a decent seat in the front middle--way way better than the seats for the paid area. This was a mid-week late Jan though an hour is probably better. Most people seemed to leave some sitting and some walking around and getting snacks though. It was an amazing show and 100% better than the WDW version.

Hi Redjulie - Are you going taking advantage of Rodeo? We will be there during the same time, since schools are out for Rodeo.

We kinda like the area around the side..by the raft to the island area..by the smoking section. Not as right on center, but not as crowded and easier to jostle close in. We sat on the wall ledge for awhile and that would have been nice,,but the show was cancelled because of wind.

I totally agree on the location. EVERYONE bottlenecks in front of Pirates and stops there for some reason. If you have decent amount of time before the show, I say deck it for that area and get there as soon as you can. People sometimes complain about the water spray from the sitting area on that side (closer to the NOS train station), but we ALWAYS sit there. I try to sit there for fireworks too because its sometimes not fun to stand on MS and try to see over people's heads (especially when you're only 5 '4 and you have a 6 foot dude in front of you with his 6 yr old daughter on his shoulders. I say bring a sweater with you so you can stay warm and shield yourself from the spray if you're gonna be in the sitting area for Fantasmic!

He said that he had room for all of us in the reserved section for FREE. It was behind the seating areas, on the steps, closer to the island boats gate. Perfect view and FREE. Lots of room. Ask a CM before you resign yourself.

Really? For FREEEE? (If you watched Bedtime Stories, you'd laugh =)) where was this magical free spot? Is it underneath the lights? I think we talked to a CM during our last trip & told us about that spot?

I try to sit there for fireworks too because its sometimes not fun to stand on MS and try to see over people's heads (especially when you're only 5 '4 and you have a 6 foot dude in front of you with his 6 yr old daughter on his shoulders).

OMG! That guy and his daughter are always at the park, because it happens to me all the time! After waiting for 25-30 minutes and thinking you have a great view, they come in 2 minutes before the start and block it.

To stay on topic, the walkway right up against the Rivers of America are great if you're patient to sit and wait

I'm with you with the tall people. My husband, kids and I are all short so we're always blocked.

Does anyone have pictures of what the free areas look like or the reserved section? I just can't picture it because I haven't been to DL for 10 yrs.

See the tall people swooping in are the main reason we won't wait for a long time. We always have something tall come in, and while DBF (6'3") is fine the kids and I can't see. So, we wait until closer to show time and we swoop in. We've had the CM give us seating in the reserved area before, it's not the area you pay for, it's an area reserved for people in wheelchairs, this particular time there was a TON of room (there were like 3 groups in there) left so we got waved in.
