I have an older Forever storm door and it's fine but the handle snapped, I keep trying but have to send back another replacement handle. Can't seem to find a place that carries older fitting parts, anyone know of a place sort of like what "Replacements" for my dishes and china? So irritated I keep coming up blank... funny thing is Anderson says it's been discontinued, as in no longer supporting their "FOREVER" product I have a hunch it's misnamed the product :/

eBay?

The hinges to my kitchen cabinets are breaking and they are discontinued. I’ve had a little bit of luck on eBay, but I still need some more

So far nothing & its looking like I need to get a whole new door to deal with a snapped door handle. How are we all supposed to avoid filling the landfills if permanent things like storm doors are disposable? sigh---

I was able to get a replacement from the Andersen company through their website for my storm door. It was not the exact replacement but the handle was the same. My handle was not broken but it was the lever type and had discolored and corroded a bit over time.

During installation the visible part that I was most concerned with was usable but the inside plate was not lining up. We used the 'old' part for this. Looks 100% better! I have a door from about 1995 that was double pane insulated and is still in excellent condition and other than the corroded handle looked good. Was in no hurry to replace as the cost for a comparable door was so high.

There was a little sticker on the inside hinge side of my door that had information such as a model number that led me to a usable substitute.

Google the door brand and see what comes up. Or call a window and door store and ask them for help. I needed a window part and asked around found a place not far from me that had the part in store

Judique, I tried the website and I got a message the door is discontinued and a guy answered telling me the system is down and to call back and use an email. The email was a deadend, I called back 2 hrs later and a guy (maybe same guy) answered telling me system is down and to call back with a different email. I emailed and will call again, hope springs eternal.

This is Anderson (EMCO) so I sort of expect at least average service from a premium brand... and this is why I was only willing to spend $130 on a grill :/.

ShellyF, That's a really good idea! We have a local shop that contractors favor, it's been around forever, maybe they have some in a corner somewhere.

Emco was my brand. I couldn't think of the name when I posted earlier. Andersen bought out the company a long time ago.

Did you make it to this page?

https://parts.andersenstormdoors.com/serialNumber.jsphttps://parts.andersenstormdoors.com/items_sdFullDPHandles.html
or this one?

This is how I tracked down the set I purchased - last year or the year before. I think it cost around $75 before shipping and tax.

Try a local, not chain hardware store. We live in a hundred year old house and have been able to find most replacement parts at our local store.
