Is there a flavoring you love, but you don't like the real thing?

I love banana flavored Laffy Taffy or banana flavored gum. But I very, very, very, very rarely eat bananas. The black seeds bother my mind. I don't even like them in banana splits (I'll order one without the banana or eat around the banana ).

This is sort of reverse but I love licorice and dislike anise. I love banana splits though Too bad I can never eat another one as long as I live

I have one that's the opposite: I love cherries but I hate cherry flavored things. ACK! Cherry popsicles, juice, Life Savers, cough drops etc. Ewwwwwwwww!

I just ate a pound of cherries while we were snowed in!

Saffron- I am exactly the same, love eating cherries, but can't stand any cherry flavor candy or medicine. I don't think they taste "cherry" at all. I do like cherry coke and pepsi, and I love Grenadine (sp?) in drinks, esp. OJ and Ginger Ale!!!

I like apple flavored things (including apple pies) but I won't eat an apple by itself because I'm not too crazy about the fact that they always seem kind of mushy to me.

I love coconut flavoring, I just hate the gritty texture of actual coconuts. Yech!

I like apples, but I won't eat anything made with apples, like apple pie or cider (yuck!). I like strawberry soda and Tangy Taffy, but not strawberries or anything else strawberry-flavored.

The opposite here as well. I like fresh peaches and canned peaches, but keep anything peach flavored (like those gummy candies) or scented (like lotion) away from me.

Another vote here for cherries.

I like cherry anything -- even marashino (sp?) cherries.... but hate real cherries from produce dept.

I'm with you, Shep. I go out of my way not to eat tomatoes, but I like tomato sauce (spaghetti) and tomato soup. Don't like ketchep/ I also will eat strawberry jello, but I HATE HATE HATE Strawberries.
