IS there a DVC member cruise on the horizon?

There's a thread on the cruise board about people being bumped by DCL off of a cruise in October. It's a 3 night, October 28th cruise. Is this just wishful thinking on my part that this could be another member cruise? The timing is about the same as when they started to clear psgrs off of the schedule last time. Any rumors about DVC involvement?

I read that post, but my guess is no it is not a Member Cruise. I think most who went on the Member Cruise (as we did) came away saying 4 days was fun, but we want 7. I can't see them going to a 3-day cruise. Just my opinion.

Could you go on the member cruise by paying cash if you did not have enough points and still be included in all of member activity?

We were unfortunately on that cruise and we're VERY upset. If it were a member cruise, I'd assume they wouldn't be jumping through the hoops they are to reschedule us, since we're DVC owners and booked with points. The whole situation stinks, frankly.

They're attempting to resolve it, but not without penalty on our part. They have moved us to a four-day cruise for the same points as the three-day, but it puts our BWV stay over a weekend and DVC is not willing to give us those days at the same point rate. That's not even mentioning we're losing our Boardwalk view guarantee that I had since I booked 11 months out. We specifically booked the three day so we could stay before the cruise (MIL and two nephews are also coming in for this from two different cities, plus us from a third) and use weekday points. I think at the very least DVC should be flexible enough so we don't have to borrow. They are willing to put us on a "priority waitlist" to try and get the Boardwalk view back, but I'm still not totally happy.

i doubt they will do anything for you and your stay at the bwv for the weekend, i emailed ms about members homecoming and no dvc rooms left, they wanted me to stay at a non dvc resort , i said i would if its the same amount of points that it would take for staying dvc resort, ms said nope, sorry the points stand as they are, and they also said you can stay at a moderate for just a few more points then dvc resort, i said hello, i was told by my guide that the reason the points are higher at non dvc resort because dvc doesnt want you to stay in those resorts! i went on a waitlist, luckly my waitlist came thru except i have to move once.
i told them next time to think there accomidations out first before planning, you sitution is a little different, but im sure they wont bend. at least you got a 4 day for the 3day , enjoy your extra day of cruising

Yes you could use cash instead of points for the member cruise. The only thing was you had to pay all at once when you booked.
