Is There a Current Referral Thread ?

I remember (many) months ago referral thread here, I think it was closed. Wondering if Moderators are considering another ? TIA

Did anyone else receive a "Sharing the Magic" brochure in the mail recently? We got one last week and I didn't know if it was just random or an idication DVC might be getting ready for another Friends/Family promo.

I did receive one. I am desperately trying to just get one referral. I actually had a friend who was going to buy in. The week before they were set to purchase he got laid off.

Yes, I received it as well. I think that the referral thread was only open last year when there was an incentive available to benefit buyers.

IIRC, it closed in August, once that went away. Maybe if a new incentive comes out the requires new members to have the names of DVC members to get a better deal, it would be open again.

If you have a referral from an existing member there are better incentives to purchase. DVC has offered this in the past and hopefully will again.

The old referral thread has been locked, but it still available to view in the "Ongoing DVC Discussion Topics" thread stickied at the top of the DVC Operations Board.

Yep, that was my understanding. When it benefited new buyers, it was OK. But just to benefit the current owners, referrals are a no-go.

The DIS will not allow "referral" offers unless there is a program that benefits the purchaser as well as the referring DVC member. Currently, it only benefits the DVC member, hence we cannot allow offers for them.
