Hello! And welcome to my wedding/honeymoon TR! :woohoo:

I originally wasn't going to do a wedding TR but after thinking about it I think it would help with my post wedding blue to kind of relive the experience with other disney lovers! Plus I think everyone and their mothers have seen my wedding pictures and are ready to kill me if I show them again....soooo I'll just show you guys! :rolleyes1

DH (Mr Z) and I got engaged in Disney back in 2008 at Fort Wilderness on a carriage ride. It was awesome, romantic, and completely expected after the TSA security person pointed out that DH had an engagement ring in his carry on. :headache: That was fun! We laugh at it now but at the time it wasn't very funny.

We originally were going to have a wedding here at home in NH but after all the weddings we had attended and the amount of $$$ it would've cost us we decided we weren't really BIG wedding people. Its just not our style. So after much grief from some family members and loosing a deposit we decided on a disney wedding with a small amount of family. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!!!!!

So here are the details you'll need to know:

Why the odd TR title???... Here is why

I will try and stay as on topic as possible and organised... but i'm not making any promises!

Just to tease you guys a bit here is a picture from the wedding

I promise there are TONS of pictures to come! :)

Let's just get right into this shall we?

I have to start the day before the wedding because I need you to understand that I am EXTREMELY OCD! :guilty: Its bad! Every WDW trip DH and I have ever taken has been planned out like crazy... oh and always planned around our ADRs... we're foodies :upsidedow

9/29 was a wednesday. I took the day off because I KNEW i'd be a total waste at work and because I wanted to have some alone time to get alittle pampering before leaving. DH left me to go to work and I got up to work on some packing.

I had an appointment for that morning at an AMAZING spa, that I had never heard of. My two best friends got together and got me a gift certificate. I had scheduled a mani/pedi and a half an hour massage. :goodvibes After I finished packing a grabbed my GPS and headed out the door to the spa. My first session was for the massage. The front desk women lead me to the changing room and gave me a comfy bathrobe. She told me I could relax in the spa lounge while i waited for the massage therapist. It was awesome! I felt totally relaxed just to be in the lounge!

I very nice, soft spoken girl came out to get me and we chatted a bit then got down to the massage. It was AMAZING! I had never had a professional massage before and it was completely worth the money! I felt completely relaxed and my back felt 100% better than it had earlier that day. (I tend to hold my stress in what i call my "wings"... the muscles under the shoulder blades) I'm not going to lie she worked on me alot and at some points it did hurt... but it hurt real good! :thumbsup2

After the massage i was brought back to the changing room and i got dressed and headed back down to the main floor for my mani and pedi. I chatted it up with the girls, they brought me a glass of wine, and I even ended up meeting a women who was also on her way to disney the next day.. AND staying at the AKV! What are the odds?! (I did look for her but we never crossed paths)

Needless to day I left the spa at 2 oclock feeling like a million bucks!... however the feeling did not last long.

I got into my truck and looked at my cell phone... i had 10 missed calls  a couple were from my dad and sisters saying they were excited to be heading down to disney, one was from DH saying he missed me and was just checking in, and then 6 were from my officiant for the wedding. A little side note... my officiant was VERY important to me. He was actually the first vendor I booked because after doing a TON of research he was who I wanted. I called him back right away and apparently he just discovered he had double booked himself and was unable to marry DH and I. :scared1::mad::sad1: I was so upset I had no idea what to do. He told me he was sorry and that he had found another officiant to marry us and alerted my wedding planner at disney. I rushed him off the phone because I was holding back tears and called DH. I was so upset. Not to knock the guy but seriously i booked you a year and three months in advanced and had also contacted you one month prior to the wedding to confirm everything... and you're just NOW telling me? Something just wasn't sitting well with me.

After crying to DH, I called my wedding planner. She was unavailable but her assistant noticed how upset i was and had her paged. She called me right back. She said she felt aweful that everything had happened so close to the wedding but that she had contacted the replacement and that i wasn't to worry. She gave me all of his contact information and she told me that she had worked with him before. He had some awesome reviews from other disney brides so I felt somewhat better.

I contacted the new officiant and talked it over with him. He was super nice and told me he wanted to meet with DH and I the next day once we were all settled into the AKV. So we set up our time and all I could do was hope for the best.

After the drama had ended DH came home and gave me a giant hug. He told me to go relax and that he would grab a pizza for dinner and finish packing with me before his class that night. Which is exactly what we did.... Here is proof

travel1.jpg

All packed and ready to go!

He got home from class around 9 that night and since our flight was leaving at 6:30 in the morning and we had to be there at 4:30 and we live about an hour away and were picking up my DAuntie C and the Inlaws... we needed to be up at 2am. :scared: DH and I decided to pull an all nighter. We got into our PJ's climbed into bed with our puppies
013.jpg
These are our babies... Duke (on the right) and Toby (on the left) (Yes we have two dogs.. both of whom like to sleep with us... please dont judge  ) and put on our most favorite show in the whole world... The Golden Girls. DH and I watch the golden girls every night before bed... we have all the seasons on DVD. I use to watch it with my nana, who reminded me of sophia. One day while we were dating DH started watching it with me and he's been hooked ever since. We watched half of a season before it was time to head to the airport.

This is where i'm going to stop because technically even though it is the middle of the night its still the next day. I'm uploading pictures as we speak and hopefully i'll be able to post the travel day in the next couple days. :thumbsup2

Well count me in -- I'm always a sucker for a good wedding story!

Your dress looks beautiful in the photo you shared. And you also look beautiful, of course.

I was soooo tempted to get married at WDW (my DH and I were married just over two years ago), for similar reasons to yours. I loved our wedding, but sort of wish we'd done it differently. It was all so complicated.

Yay!!! I have followers!

I feel you!!! Believe me. DH and I's families are rather disfunctional... We just didn't see the traditional wedding working for us. We were so happy we had the wedding WE wanted and that we weren't swayed into having a big wedding here at home.

Thank you very much! My dress was awesome! I love it to pieces!

Yay!!! Glad you are joining the party!

A dsiney wedding, have to hear about this!popcorn::

Hehehe I hope I don't disappoint! :cutie:

I'm going to try and make time later this afternoon to get the travel day up and out of the way so we can start with the REAL fun!

I'm in! That is unbelievable that your officiant discovered his error that late. That would have completely stressed me out! Sounds like everything turned out okay, though.

Love the puppies!

cant wait to hear about your trip!

Thanks Glad you're joining in! :thumbsup2

This sounds like fun! :goodvibes

I promise it will be! :yay:

So where did we leave off.... Oh yes! 2am in my house. DH and I changed into our clothes and brushed our teeth as fast as i've ever seen. We grabbed all of our luggage and started loading up my truck. I went back into the house to grab my dress when both of my puppies were looking at me completely confused by what was going on. :guilty: I felt aweful. DH walked in behind me saying "come on! come on! we gotta go!" and i just started bawling  He was so confused by my reaction of him rushing me that he got worried. I told him i was so sad leaving my babies. This was the first time we had left toby alone with a puppy sitter since we got him at 3 months. Duke is one of those dogs that is fun loving and would play with anyone but Toby is very attached to me. He follows me around when i do laundry, when i'm cleaning the house, he even will check to see if he can still see me when he goes outside to play with DH. I was VERY worried about him. Dont get me wrong, its not that he doesn't like other people because he LOVES other people... but he is just one of those dogs that always has his eye on their owner. So we said our tearful good-byes to the puppies and finished up loading the truck and headed down to pick up DAuntie C.

DAuntie C is a disney nut just like me. She had helped me majorly in wedding planning and i dont know where i'd have been without her. She lives about 15 mins south of us on the way towards the airport. I gave her a wake up call at 2:45am letting her know we were on the way. She answered her phone acting like I had just woke her... thank god she was only acting! She had me scared for a second until she said "Are you kidding?! I wasn't asleep! I'm too excited to be going to DISNEY!" :cheer2: We arrived at her house right on time and loaded up all her luggage into the back of the truck with the rest of the stuff. Now it was time to pick up the DIL's

**a little side note here... DMIL had never flown before this trip :scared: We were rather worried about how the next few hours would go**

We arrived at DIL's house right on time at 3:45am and we arrived just in time to see that the Van we had scheduled was already there and loading up DMIL, DFIL, and DBIL x2's luggage. The driver took all of our luggage, we grabbed coffees and were on our way to the airport. :thumbsup2

We got to the airport with ample time headed to the jetblue check in desk.
travel2.jpg

Notice how empty it was! We were all given our boarding passes with no issues and headed to security. I was VERY worried about getting my dress through security but to my surprise everyone was SUPER nice and DH and I got all kinds of congrats from the airport TSA people :cutie:

After some reading and another quick stop at a Dunkin's we were finally ready to board. We got on, found our seats and were ready to go!!!

This is where i noticed DMIL getting alittle freaked out. She started looking down and doing some wierd breathing thing. I had DBIL make sure she was ok and she said she was doing her "yoga breathing" :confused3 Hey whatever makes you feel better i guess. The flight was pretty good! no crazy turbulance and DMIL took the take off like a champ! We loved being able to watch the TV's on Jetblue and we were all just pretty excited to get there and check in at AKV!

Once we got off the plane we said goodbye to DMIL and DFIL since they were staying offsite. The rest of us headed over to the ME counter. :woohoo: We got right on a bus and were on our way in no time. Everyone made calls to let others know we arrived safe and sound as i bounced up and down in my chair watching the ME video. :dance3:

As we pulled into AKV I started to cry happy tears! I was finally back to where I love to be, getting married in a few days, and I was here with my family and friends. This was AWESOME! I literally RAN to the check in desk with my dress slung over my arm. I got to the next available cast member who said she was hoping she'd be able to help me because she saw my smile the second I walked in the doors. :cloud9: She asked me and DH all about the wedding while she checked us in. She gave us our room number and keys and told us we would get a text when our room was ready. She took our carry ons and my dress and hung them in bell services so we could go to the pool without having to carry them around. As we were getting ready to leave she said "Oh! wait you forgot something!" we turned around and she gave us 6 long stem roses :*) She said it was an early wedding gift from everyone at the front desk. Again I cried like a big baby!

We headed down to the mara to grab a snack. We were there not even a half an hour before i got a text and DBIL got a text that both of our rooms were ready. DAuntie C still hadn't gotten her text but she told us to go ahead and get settled and to just meet her back at the pool.

travel7.jpg

Here are the roses laid out on the bed. I was still in shock that we had only been in disney an hour and got some pixie dust.

And here is the view from our room. We didn't slurge on a savannah view because we were only here for three nights but to be honest i didn't mind the pool view... I kinda liked it!

travel8.jpg

DH, DBIL x2, and I went back to the lobby to hang out with DAuntie C and check out the rest of the resort. Kind of gave them the grand tour since we'd already stayed here and LOVE it!

This is where i'm going to stop for now because I need to upload some more pictures and I dont want to be one of those TR-ers that overloads her readers :upsidedow
More to come soon! Promise!

next up, a visit from DMIL and DFIL, the rest of my fam check in, and DH and I's AMAZING dinner at JIKO

Ooh, A wedding report! I am in! Can't wait to read more. The few photos you've posted so far are great and I love your puppies! I also am excited to hear more about AKV, and of course - your big day!

Really excited to read more updates - thanks for writing this!

hehehe You're welcome and thanks!! I'll be posting a ton more pictures.. probably too many but it'll be worth it :)

Don't you just love flying Jet Blue? Those tvs are awesome and make the flight go by soooo fast. Too bad my family is flying southwest when we go to Disney in Jan. :sad1: Oh well, the videos on my new ipod touch should help. :goodvibes

By the way your pixie dust was great. That's why people keep coming back.

Can't wait for another update!

I'm going to live vicariously through your trip report! My fiancé and I considered a Disney Escape wedding for the longest time. We would debate back and forth because of the ease of having a destination wedding and the fact that we LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney! The thing that's keeping me where I am, however, is the fact that all of my students (former and current; I teach middle school) have said many times that they expect to be invited to my wedding! Haha. I do want to share that day with them along with all the people from my church, so that's why we nixed Disney!

Anyway, there's still a part of me that would LOVE to get married there in a much smaller ceremony, so I know I'm going to absolutely LOVE your TR! BTW, that one teaser pic is GORGEOUS!!!

Joining in. I wish I would've gone to Disney before I was married because I sure would've had my wedding there.

Can't wait to hear more.

Oh I do love jetblue! we flew home on southwest and were really missing the TV's. However it was good that we were able to check two bags without a fee on southwest. We had some how had accumulated alot of stuff for the return flight :rolleyes1

Wait until you hear about the rest of the pixie dust we recieved!!! :cloud9:

Thanks! I thought long and hard about what i should use as a title... I'm glad you like it!

I liked the pool view too! :goodvibes There are so many locations to see the animals that i was fine without having a savannah view.

omg it is funny now but at the time... eeek I was almost positive DH was going to get arrested, he was so mad i thought he would be having a few words for that TSA security guard. But we made it ton disney that day and he kept me in suspense for two days before he popped the question. I'm a nervouse pee-er too so I have seen every single bathroom at every single disney park :lmao:
