DS10 really wants us to take him on the Atlantis Submarine. I was thinking of Coral World. What is the difference between the 2 (besides the sub of course)?

I took my son (at the time was 9) on an Atlantis sub in Hawaii (and got to see a lot of fish and a shark) and Coral World in St. Thomas. By far, my son LOVED Coral World because he got to see them feed the sharks and sea turtles. At Coral World, there is a space ship looking thing out in the water that you enter and walk down some stairs to see fish in their natural environment. (A picture of this is on their webpage). There is also a postal drop box there where you can send postcards from underwater. The cancellation mark is really cool!

They also have aquariums, sea turtles, tide pools and a bunch of other stuff. If you haven't checked it out, here is the web site for CW.

And, here is a link to their discount coupon for admission:

Here is a link for Atlantis subs. They have locations in St. Thomas as well as St. Martin. If you are undecided, you could always do the sub in St. Martin and Coral World in St. Thomas. CW is located right next to some beautiful beaches and great snorkeling trails.

I hope this helps....I tend to ramble sometimes! :)

If you do decide to do Coral World...it is much cheaper on your own than the DCL excursion (get the coupon from their website). The cab is $7 per person each way(tons of cabs when you get off the ship)...plus you can spend a few hours at Coral World and the rest of the day at Coki Beach which is the Beach right there. We had a great day at Coki...some of the Best snorkeling we've ever done...plus the beach is GORGEOUS!!! The water is so clear and blue...very calm which makes for great snorkeling or just playing in the water. There are cabs all over the place, so it is an easy ride back to the ship. There were lots of DCL and Carnival Cruisers at Coki when we were there in May. We were off the ship by 8:30 and spent the day at Coki til around 3pm...it was wonderful.
