is there a better time of year to buy resale??

I will contact them. My daughter had used a company for another timeshare, and I am hoping this isn't the same company just name changed. It had just 4 letters in its name...and it was a disaster for her, so I just want to make sure I don't use the same company... NOT wanting to sell, but we have 2 Disney, and can't afford both anymore in this economy, so Just need to sell the Sarratoga Springs..... Makes us so sad,but we have to do what we have to do.....:confused3

We have purchased 3 resales through the Timeshare Store, and you should have no worries working with them. They are very professional, responsive and work with a great title company.

You are probably aware that there is usually a glut of SSR points available on the resale market (due to the size and "newness" of the resort), so there may not really be a "best" time to list, other than as soon as you want. Smaller contracts seem to move a little faster than contract of 160 points or more. You should look at the ROFR thread to get a sense of the price points that SSR is selling for, which may help you with setting a sale price. A lot depends on how much of a hurry you are in. If you still have 2012 points (or even 2011 points), you have a better chance of selling quickly. If your contract is stripped down to 2013 points, be prepared to sit on the market for awhile.

Ok, so that question was for the best time to buy. When is the best time to sell. Looking to sell Saratga Springs.. Not sure HOW to do this, When to do this, WHO to go thru??? I know there are crooks out there, and where can I go to read reports or reviews on who is good and who to avoid???

Now looks pretty good. It is really a question of how many other SSR contracts are out there for sale. after all, a point is a point. I'd use the Timeshare Store as they seem to get the best prices for sellers, but any of the big three brokers are perfectly fine.

Well, if "safety" is your concern, I would probably go with the company who is an official sponsor of the DISboards by clicking on the logo at the top of the page (The Timeshare Store). What better endorsement could you ask for?

I agree with your statement but not your reasoning. Now is a good time to sell because there is less competition. Fewer sellers equals higher prices. However, people buying now will have a 0% chance of actually using their points during the summer, so I'm not so sure how much I agree with that reasoning.

I do see now how my post sounded. What I meant was people are coming back from yet "another" trip and fresh in their minds what they are paying each year for their hotel so are looking to save that money next year.;)

You could always rent the points from this particular contract for a couple of years. The rental may actually help cover the MF`s from your other contract as well. You could rent on your own or through David`s rentals.
