Is there a better deal than this? (stroller)

I want a reclining (or partially reclining) umbrella/lightweight stroller for WDW for my three year old who weighs 35 lbs (and will weigh more by the time we go).

I found this one:
http://www.onestepahead.com/product/27209/325755/117.html
STS-1 Lightweight Stroller for 39.95
This is the same as the Combi Strolee that Target used to have (but now there's an 8 week waiting list and it's up to $40).

Does anyone have this one? Is it easy to fold up and carry? I like it because it reclines and holds up to 45 lbs, so we can keep this for years.

Hi, I was wondering if you made a decision on this stroller? I, too, was considering this... it almost seems too good to be true. I was also considering the MacLaren's.

Any further advice?

Just 15 more days 'til we're there!! :cheer2:

I bought it. It should be coming in the mail today. I'll post on this thread and let you know how it is. :)

I was looking at this stroller but was concerned because my 3 year old DD is 41 inches tall. One of the reviews on this stroller stated that their child 40 inches tall was too tall to fit under the canopy! Look forward to your review so I can decide if this will work or whether to purchase the Macclaren I saw at babies r us.

Well, we put it together (very easy) and I like it a lot. The canopy point is a good one, though. My son is 39 inches tall and the canopy almost touches the top of his head when he's sitting straight up. However, when partially reclined (for nap), there is tons of room for the canopy. So, if you get this, Shan, your son will really only be able to use the canopy when he's reclined. The canopy just moves back and forth real easy.

Don't forget to use www.mypoints.com if you use their site. It's $2 or $3 per dollar spent. Also, here are some codes to use:

SAVETENP Take 10% off a $50 order
MAYBDAY 15% off any order - Expires 06/01/05
SAVENEXT 10% off $50 - Expires 05/13/05
15% off $60 Expires 05/31/05

I bought the Snack-Trap to take on the plane. It keeps DD from spilling her Cheerios.

KimWDW,

Thanks for the review. You have helped me to decide to go with the Maclaren because of the canopy issue. If only my DD wasn't so tall.....I think we definately need a stroller with a canopy we can keep up or we may have a fried toddler (we are going in July!)

Thanks,

Shan :flower:

I bought this combi model at Target when it was $29.99 -boy am I glad I ordered when I did! We've used ours a few times and so far I really like it. We plan to use it at the parks for our then 14 mo old DS, but it also works for our 40 inch tall DD who is 3 1/2 yrs. The sunshade is going to be a problem for us with DS regardless of the brand bc he likes to sleep forward rather than reclining. :earboy2: Thats why the bald boy is wearing hats with wide brims! I am guessing that at the end of a long day at MK, we'll be taking DS out of the stroller and putting DD in for the ride back to the CR!

So, I got the catalog, saw this stroller, and my wife and I thought it would be perfect for WDW. Only $40, with storage, easy to transport and it's cheaper than renting a stroller for 6 days.

So I'm checking out on www.onestepahead.com, and I see the box for "promotional codes." Gee, I wish I had one of those..... Hmmmmmm, I think........ Let's check out the Dis first!

I love this joint! Saved me $6 bucks on the stroller. Thanks, gypsydoodlebug! (There's a sentence I never thought I'd write).

Well, we just got the STS-1 and it seems like it will do the trick.

But I have a question: can I carry this on, or do I have to check it? Folded, it's actually smaller than an regular umbrella stroller.

I've looked at this stroller many times but haven't ordered it b/c I would really like a parent tray/cup holder (like on our HUGE Graco travel system stroller) and b/c the storage basket looks difficult to access and somewhat small (at least from the pictures on the website). Otherwise, it looks like a winner to me for our DD 10 mos. and maybe for our DS 4yrs.

Can those of you who have this stroller comment on the storage? We'd be using it for our ponchos and small diaper bag--does the storage area look like it would accommodate that? Have any of you found a way to add any kind of parent tray / cupholder or have you just decided to go without? And is it truly easy to fold as advertised? Thanks for your help!

The storage is definitely less than a regular stroller. But it looks like it will hold some ponchos and a *small* diaper bag. But being able to store anything is a huge improvement over a regular umbrella stroller.

It is VERY easy to fold and sling on your back. But you probably will have to empty the storage first.

I too will miss the storage tray and cupholders from our 4in1. But will compensate with this: http://www.onestepahead.com/product/27210/268/117.html

I'm in agreement here. The storage is a bit hard to access for a large item, but should be fine for ponchos. I hang my smallest lightweight diaper bag over the handle bar and it works well. I have also ordered the cup holder from one-step and am eager to see if it works too! It should be arriving soon.

oh and it should be small enough to gate check like a "regular" umbrella stroller. I find it easy to fold, but you do have to get all of the wheels into alignment first -after the first few times its a breeze.
