Is there a 2-night minimum stay @ Good Neighbor Hotels?

I'm a bit confused. I tried to book one night at the Embassy Suites (South) for March 10th directly through their website, and it shows no availability. But if I try 2 or 3nights, including the 10th, it goes through no problem. Is there a strict 2-night minimum on these hotels or should I wait until a bit closer to the time to try and get the one night only?

The reason we only want one night is that originally we were planning to go straight to San Diego from the airport and spend our first couple of nights there before coming up for 3 days at Disney (we have Hojo booked). Then I found out (LOVE this board!!) that there are only fireworks on the weekend and I don't want to miss those, so we shifted our plans somewhat. We'll arrive in LA on Sat noon, will spend the rest of Saturday at the parks and then head to SD on Sunday morning.

I was thinking we will still be on Eastern time so we'll be up bright and early to drive there, and we'll come back later on Monday for 3 nights at HOJO.

Right now we're booked in at the Ayres near Arrowhead Pond for the Sat night but I really would like to be closer. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help!

Call them, I am always amazed at what you can get on the phone that the web sites won't do......I prefer talking to the actually hotel, not the 800 reservations line.

It is very hit or miss. I've had the same hotel say "3 night min" and the following week let me book just one night.

If you're anxious, I agree with the suggestion to use the good old fashioned telephone.

BTW---the weekend you are talking about, we booked the Carousel I&S dirt cheap through the AAA website. We booked for 2 nights @ around $72 per night. (I'd have to look it up exactly).

I agree, I would call directly. Sometimes during peak times they seem to put those weird restrictions on, but try again!
