Is the transportation Disney offers a good deal?

I was just looking at packages for a Disney resort and seen the option for paying for transportation to and from the airport. Are they giving us a good deal or should I choose a different way. We have always used magic express so I’m just not sure what to do now.

The prices are comparable (maybe a few dollars more) to if you booked the same private transfers directly with Mears.
If you're used to Magical Express, the most comparable option to that will be Mears Connect. It's the same buses and drivers without the Disney wraps and videos. That said, if your family is on the larger side, private transfers may end up being more cost effective.

Okay I didn’t know about Mears connect. I just briefly skimmed over the options on a package search. Is it on the Disney site?

No! Check out any private transportation service (other than Mears) and you will find the roundtrip rates are less than those offered in the Disney arranged transportation. There is another post on this board discussing various private transportation services. You may want to check that thread and search those services to find your best deal.

Mears Connect (the option that is most similar to DME) is not listed as an option on the Disney site. The options they do offer are also through Mears, but no discounts.
