Is the selling of Disney tickets on ebay allowed? Would you every buy them?

Browsing ebay, I saw Disney park hopper tickets from sellers with good feedback ratings.... I am suprised that they can sell tickets on ebay like that.

I don't think that I would be brave enough to buy them from an ebay seller, even if they were discounted! How about you?

I know people whoo have successfully bought WDW tickets from Ebay, but I wouldn't take a chance. I'd be too worried that I'd get bad tickets.

I would not take the chance good feedback or not.

I know it is illegal to resell the tickets within Florida, but since most of these buyers and sellers are outside of Florida I am not sure what the law is.

You have NO way of knowing if the tickets actually have entry days left on them until you get to WDW. What a nasty surprise that could be...and nothing to do but pay for tickets at the gate. Doesn't sound to me like it's too cost effective ! Don't do it.

I wouldn't buy them, you have no way to know until you get to WDW and try to use the tix if they are good or not, then it's too late.

I wouldn't buy them on e-bay. I wouldn't take the chance and spend all that money and then they're no good.

All Disney tickets say "non-transferable" on them, which technically means that they cannot be resold. Obviously, however, people still do.

I agree with other posters that, while most people on eBay are probably not out to scam you when selling tickets, there is absolutely no way to know in advance whether the tickets are valid or not. You can't tell by looking at them, and you can't find out until you're actually at the parks. So ... buyer beware!!

Never! I know it would probably be fine because most people are honest but what if.... then you have to buy the higher priced passes at the gate. Not a good idea, legal or not!

It is illegal, the tickets say "non-transferable" on them. But Disney has no way of knowing, so people do it all the time. As previously stated though, there is know way to know how many days are REALLY on the pass until you get to the gate.

eBay's policy states that the laws of the states where the buyer and seller reside are what matters to them. However, that only has to do with the sales transaction. Florida law prohibits any re-sale of partially used tickets (wholly unused tickets are fair game). So, it's legal for me in Michigan to buy a PH ticket with 2 days left on it, but if I take it to Florida and try and use it and the transfer is discovered, then the ticket can be taken away from me. The chances aren't great of that happening, but recently there have be reports of people selling restricted tickets on eBay that require ID (such as discounted military tickets) and people getting burned at the turnstiles.

Personally, I would never buy park tickets off of eBay... here's why:
1) You can't know for sure if they are any good until you try and use them.
2) The "discount" you usually get off of eBay is often only 5%-10% of the value of the ticket. Given that there are legit ticket wholesalers out there that can also save you money, WHY would you want to risk that much money for such a small savings?
