Is the Search Working on DIS?

Everytime I try to do a search for a topic on these boards, it says there is nothing. I know that is not true! Has anyone else had this problem when searching for topics?

I have NEVER been able to use the search on this board. It never works for me. I just go back page after page, which kinda sucks.

It actually worked very well for me last week. Then all of a sudden, poof... it stopped working. Try googling what you're looking for. Someone found the thread I wanted and posted a link to it for me.

Thanks everyone! At least I know it's not just something on my end! It is frustrating not to be able to find stuff because stuff I know I read before is already buried beneath all the new posts!

Hey if anyone has a link to that really cool best of DL secrets thread... I would love to have it! I have been searching for a few days... but I have dial up so it is a slooooow process.

Until yesterday (when I couldn't make it work) I would go to the very front of the forums, switch my preferences to California Gold, and Search would work. But that didn't work yesterday after I posted about it.

So the other options are just scanning the pages for a subject line that seems helpful, or using Control F with a search term (scans the page for you), going back page by page, OR googling "disboards" + what you're looking for.

i would say i use google to search dis. if you add site:disboards.com to the search query, it returns all matching pages on disboards.com

I can usually get the search function to work by clicking on the "Advanced Search" link under the Search menu item on any page. This takes you to a Search page where you can enter in your search term. There is another "Advanced Search" section on this page that I sometimes have to expand to get the search to work.

Regardless, bradk's suggestion of using google is the best for dis, and most other sites as well.
