Is the rainforest restaurant a good choice for lunch either at the animal kingdom park or the downtown disney.

Deb.

Hi, Deb!

First, I have to say that my family has not dined at RFC at either DTD or AK...BUT, it is a chain, and there used to be one near where we lived, so we have been to that one a few times. We did not like it...not for the food, anyway. The atmosphere is very cool! There are different rooms throughout, with many animatronic animals, and an occasional thunder storm (this can be scary for litle ones, so if you have someone in your party who is afraid of thunder and lightning, avoid)!

The food always sounded so good on the menu...and then when it was placed before us, we'd be like "wait, this doesn't look like what we ordered." It was always a big disappointment, and an expensive one, at that. I think they have pretty decent burgers and sandwiches, if that is the kind of thing you're looking for. If you have an RFC near you, give that one a try. Personally, we save our meals in WDW for restaurants we can't experience in other places. If you can't experience it anywhere else, and that kind of atmosphere sounds cool to you, go for it! But I recommend keeping your expectations for the food pretty low, then you won't be disappointed.

We go every time we are in Orlando. I get a free GC from a website that I get points from. In February DS and I got a Pepperoni Pizza and it was enough for the both of us to share. It was about 15$ I think. I liked the Tomato soup at T-Rex. We don't have one in Georgia so I think its a cool place to eat and the pizza was really good.

I wouldn't recommend it. :worried:

There are much better food choices than this place. If it's all about the atmosphere then by all means, but most people want good food as well.

If you are in AK your better choice is to go over to Flaming Tree BBQ, it's a counter service-CS. Or take the bus over to AKL and have dinner at the buffet BOMA. Sooooo good! :thumbsup2 Lots to pick from, everyone in the family will have enough choices to be happy and you'll also have amazing dessert options! :goodvibes If you look at a menu, don't be put off by the out of the ordinary food choices, there is so much to pick from that is really amazing, you can't go wrong. ::yes::
