Is the princess boutique with the money?

I am torn about spending the money on it.

I was thinking of taking dd, and my two nieces to get their hair, makeup and nails done, before the MNSHP.

Do you have to book in advance?

TIA

Yes, you should book in advance. I did not feel it was worth the money and my DD does not want to go back. My DD liked the barbershop at the MK better. They did a ponytail and glitter (and I think it was like 5.00). ALOT of people have enjoyed the Boutique, just not us.

I took my dd(5) last December before the MVMCP and we brought her Cinderella dress from home. She absolutely had a ball. I would definitely call and book early and they now have 2 locations, MK and DTD.

Did you have to prebook the barber shop?

My nine year old daughter had her hair glittered at the barber shop on our trip in May. She loved it. I am going to take both of my daughter's to BBB this next trip though. I hope we aren't disapointed .

Here are some pictures of the barber shop version:

How does the glitter stay in? It looks like they just sprinkled it across her hair? Or is there enough hairspray on it to keep them in place? I still remember the New Year's Eve party that the girls threw glitter on themselves instead of into the air.....it was a week before it stopped falling out from "somewhere"...even after at least 2 hair washings.

:lmao:

Personally, for my 5-year-old DD, it was well worth the money. We did the package with the hair & nails (brought her Cinderella dress from home). She is VERY shy but really wanted to do it....so I made an appointment and took her, full well knowing it may not happen once she got there. Well, she had an absolutely WONDERFUL time! She basked in the attention. She loved the result. She asks to go back to the BBB the next time we get to go to WDW. The hairstyle lasted from a Thursday morning until Monday evening (when it took me 2 washes to get it clean due to the gel & hairspray! lol). It was so wonderful to watch her enjoy the experience, especially knowing how she has always been so timid around strangers. WDW, including the BBB, was definitely magical for her.....it seems to have really opened her up for new experiences without so much shyness (she has had amazing advances in that area this summer!). For her, the Barber Shop experience would not have been so magical as the wonderful experience she had at the BBB.

Thank you so much for posting :)
I want to do this for my dd who is turning 3 the week we will be at Disney, but she is really shy.
Is it held with a credit card? I wonder if I would lose any money if we get there and she won't sit in the chair. She loves to do her nails and dress up, so I think she would love it..
She still doesn't have enough hair to do anything with, though, so we might have to see what else they do ;)

My DD4 (then almost-4) *loved* it. She had long hair at the time; halfway down her back or longer. She's also a big believer in suffering for beauty, so long as there's an adoring audience. (Strangers who look at her as they pass by is sufficient adoration.)

She currently has short hair (which she begged for for months, and now has buyer's remorse about), and IMHO BBB wouldn't be as much fun with chin-length hair.

Oh, and the pins and clips aren't very comfortable - as soon as we walked out of the park that night (no more adoring audience), she asked me to take it all out. She got about 8 hours of wear from the 'do.

My girlfriend was so against this when she first went down to Disney she thought the cost was ridiculous however her mom who lives in Orlando insisted in stopping by and my girlfriend can't say enough about it! She said that as she watched the little girls it was almost magical they are truly treated like princesses. So her daughter got her hair done and was on cloud nine for days and she said it was completely worth the money! Now my dd will be a couple weeks shy of 3 so I think I will wait a couple years when we are planning to go back down again and that way both girls can have it done because although I think my dd would love it I don't think she will miss it KWIM. If I didn't think we were going to make it back down in a couple years then I would definitely have it done this trip!! HTH

Yes, it's held with a credit card. If you're a no-show, they then charge the card you held it with. If you get there and she won't do it after you've checked her in for it, I'd think they'd work with you on that. The ladies who work there are extremely nice and were wonderful with my DD. I stayed right there with her (took tons of pics, but I don't have a digital camera and I can't scan them in because the scanner's broken), which I think really helped with her comfort level as well (they expect you to stay, so it's not an issue). And you'd be amazed at what they can do with the hair. They have 3 different styles (2 of which have added fake hair pieces). DD has tons of hair (down to her waist) but I saw them working on girls with much, much less hair without any problems. They do use a ton of gel and hairspray, so even short hair stays pulled back where they put it (DD's lasted for 5 days, even the shorter fly-away hairs!). If you go over to the Theme Parks & Strategies board, there's a whole thread on the BBB with tons of pictures, even of girls with really short hair. That might give you a good idea of whether or not your daughter's hair will be doable.:thumbsup2

My girls have "just below the chin" hair and they really love it shorter. But I am contemplating having them grow it just a bit longer for our trip to BBB.

Does anyone have any pics of short haired daughter from the BBB? How do they put it up? Do they have fake extensions put in? I know it seems silly to grow their hair for this event, but they will be so upset if we get there and then it doesn't look good. And we can always cut it as soon as we get home if they want it short again.

Thanks for any pics and/or advice on this!!:goodvibes

Thanks!
We went ahead and booked it. I was told that the cancellation fee is only $10, so I can live with that if she decides it's all too much. But I really think she's going to LOVE it! :)
I'm going to check out that other thread now.. thanks again for responding!

I just booked BBB for my DD at MK as a surprise during our upcoming Jan trip. We are having breakfast at CRT, so doing BBB before hand. She will be getting a new Cinderella dress for x-mas.

I wasn't going to do it due to the cost, but after DD watched the planning DVD, she was wanting it so bad......so will make our DD trip just that much more magical with her surprise, after all they are little only for so long and since DD will almost be 8 when we go, I figure it will be the last WDW trip we take when she will want to dress up :sad1:

Hello I have been reading these posts and I am starting to get scared now about my daughters hair length we just got it all cut off she had it short but we just went shorter. She has a boy cut for the most part up over the ears and all very short in the back also.
I asked the very nice lady when I made my reservations for it on the phone about it she said that they can work magic with any hair.....................but I am still scared after reading all your posts..............sounds like they don't have many that come in with hair as short as my daughters..................what do you think ? She is so looking forward to doing this
I don't have a princess dress but I have a sun dress that has tinkerbell on it with some sandals do you all think that will work ?

Let me know your opinios about the dress and the hair please
She will be so disappointed if she can't go

Whatever she wants to wear is fine, but be aware that most of the little girls will have on costumes. She may decide she really wants one when she sees everyone else dressed up. Or maybe not. But be prepared for it with either a dress you bring or spending big bucks on one there.

I believe you can change your package once you get there to the upgraded one with the costume but you might want to call to make sure.

I, too, am waiting for an answer on the short hair question. PICTURES, please!!!

at first... last year i made a ressie for my two dd's for just hair&makeup i had brought their old princess dresses for them to wear(we were going to mnsshp) then we got there and started seeing all the little girls who had the whole make over(dress,shoes,wand.crown.hair,makeup.nails,photos..$200.00pkg) and i thought it was cute but i wasn't going to pay $400. (2 dd's) then my dh showed up and he decided to take a vote i was out voted 3-1 so we got the whole deal i was still pretty upset then they were done and stood up and did a little spin and as you can see from the picture it all became worth it.. howerver we leave in 5 days and since the dresses still fit them they ARE ONLY getting hair makeup and nails!!!NO MATTER WHAT:headache:
