...the ultimate evolution of the old Night Kingdom/Jungle Trek 5th gate idea?

It suddenly came to me after seeing some pictures from studioscentral, that the description sounded awfully familiar. And it sounded an awfully lot like Jim Hill's original Night Kingdom/Jungle Trek concept, which was originally a separate park, and then an overlay on Animal Kingdom - and now it's just a tour.

But the reported prices are right in line with the $300 that was bantered about back then...

That was my thought when it was first announced. I think the Trek is a large part of what was to have been Night Kingdom.

I do think Night Kingdom was intended to larger scale--more new facilities construction, more unique experiences--but also at twice the price.

Curious to hear over time what people have to say about paying nearly $200 for the Trek. I've always wanted to the the Backstage Magic tour, and that seems like a much better value comparatively speaking. (Hope Disney isn't reading.)

It's certainly worth it! We've done backstage magic several times and have loved it.

I was a little disappointed. Too much time on textiles -- a lot of time in costuming and laundry. Also, a chunk of the afternoon is spent watching the parade -- not exactly a great use of tour time.

It was interesting, it was fun -- but it was also a bit of a letdown and I generally don't recommend it to friends without warning them about the amount of time spent going over clothing (and the parade thing, which irked me).
