Is the last week of October going to be crazy?

We haven't been to DW for going on three years now. We have always went during the last week of October into November. When we were still going, I noticed that the crowds were getting increasingly busier during that week, but not too bad. I booked our reservations on Tuesday and couldn't believe how there was limited availability at certain hotels. Has the last week of October become that busy?

We went the last week of October last year and didn't find it that crowded at all. We never waited more than 10 minutes for anything (though we never sought out any of hte most popular attractions) and we always found the crowds managable. However, ADRs were crazy 180 days out (but a lot opened up as we got closer), probably because last year that week was included in free dining. People may be hedging their bets again this year.

My wife and I went last year at the end of October and it wasn't very crowded. The only places that got packed were MNSSHP on Halloween night and Epcot on the weekends (because of Food & Wine). We had a blast and would go again during that time!

Wasn't bad last year, we're going 2 weeks earlier this year only to take advantage of our AP which expires the 28th.

I was there last year the last week of October.....its like we were at different parks. I found it pretty packed. Esp at F&W/Epcot (yes on weekdays) and at MK (particularly on the non-party nights). It was nuts!!!! On my arrival night, MK was brutal. Even rides like Small World had a long wait. I swore i'd never go at the last week of Oct again. The last week in August (which is when we usually go) was a lot less crowded.

F&W demands a different standard for comparison. Prior to the last 5 years 'our week' was early March, the beginning of school Spring Break which is why we went then. Compared to crowds then, all of Oct with the exception of Columbus Day weekend have lighter crowds, except WS. We hop to WS every day in F&W and the weekdays seem positively deserted compared to Sat. All other parks seem less crowded than during early March. On Sat we hit some park early but take the afternoon off, Raglan Road in the PM.

Absolutely agree. October is definitely a "zig when other people zag" time and Food & Wine and MNSSHP can be considered either great events or major obstacles, depending on your perspective. For crowd avoidance, going to Epcot early in the day on weekdays and going to MK on party days, despite the early close works wonders. For full enjoyment of the events, late afternoon through evening on weekdays are my Epcot preference and I don't do the MK party, but there are certainly plenty of dates to choose from each week! If I had to see Wishes inside MK, I think I'd still do most of MK on party day times, and use a night visit for relaxed wandering with a cold whip and waiting for the night parade & fireworks. (However, I just get my fireworks fix from Illuminations, Fantasmic, DHS fireworks or catching Wishes from outside the park instead)

The last week of the Halloween parties will sell out so I would go in expecting a crowded party.

Is that what's going on? Today was my 180-days and I was surprised how hard some things were to get. Fingers-crossed for things opening up some over the next few months... hopefully my wishes will come true

We were there last October, October 24-October 28th and it was fine! BEAUTIFUL weather, but we did avoid F&W though on the weekend. Monday through Wednesday was very nice! Hopefully you ENJOY!

Maybe it depended which days you did what parks? We park-hopped and we only did mornings in MK, except for our party day and when DH and I hit up evening EMH and we didn't find the waits bad at all. Our DHS day had longer wait times, but that was more because of the pouring rain: I watch Great Movie Ride go from walk-on to a 20 minute wait thanks to the rain. We did F&W on Monday and Tuesday evening and didn't find Epcot too crowded at all. It was my first time at Disney and really I was comparing it to our local amusement park in the summer and honestly, Disney was a breeze in comparison.

We were also there the last week of October 2015 (and '14, '13, '12) and found it very crowded this past year. Every year it gets progressively more and more packed during the last week (this is the time that we have to go due to our kids' fall break). It's not unbearable by any means but we aren't big time crowd people and it felt way too congested for us. That, and the weather wasn't as nice as it normally is. We had tickets to MNSSHP on the 27th and it rained and drizzled the entire day and our costumes were covered by ponchos. On the 28th, it was a full out downpour until around 1:00 p.m. and the reason I remember this soooooo well is because it was my Birthday but at least I was still at Disney

Yes! A line up for stitch! like wth????? I couldnt believe it. I couldnt believe how packed it was. EMH at MK was crazy packed. I couldnt believe the wait times. I remember HM being something crazy like a 50 min wait!! Epcot, crazy packed. Even HS! All around, just really packed.

If you go to MK at rope drop, yes, its managable and doable and just wonderful all around. Thats the only way to avoid the crowds really.

Oh I was hopping believe me. I did 2, sometimes 3 parks in one day.

Agreed! We thought that it was more crowded than our previous visits in the same time frame. Weather was decent though.

Sep/OCt/and early Nov have always been some of the best months to go to WDW... wish we could go during those months every year... Once you have been to WDW the last week of DEC.. nothing else seems crowded at all!

Totally agree. Weather was AMAZING!! That made up for the crowds.....kinda.
