Seeing conflicting info online - may have been an evolving thing - are the souvenir (real) BEER mugs glass or plastic? I know the butterbeer souvenir ones are plastic (not dishwasher safe, apparently!) and am wondering if the beer mugs from the HH are the same or better quality.

If you've had a brew at the HH, please report back! :tilt: Thanks!

Plastic.

Image c/o google images.

The brew is a more "bitter" kind of beer. If you like that style, you'll probably like the brew. I don't like bitter beer, so I had to force myself to drink it all. I just wanted the mug. :upsidedow

Thanks for the speedy reply! I think I did see that one via my google search and also saw a glass one (with a similar, but slightly different?) hog image. I was hoping for glass, alas, but perhaps that was an early option they thought better of once the place was up and running!

I'm not a beer drinker, and not sure DH would like the brew (but he does like the darker ones!), but was thinking of making him try it just to get the mug! Hmmmm...have to think about it now...

I really appreciate your help!

I just looked at the bottom of both mugs (butterbeer/Hog's Head). Both say "not microwave or dishwasher safe"

And I did not expect the image to turn out so large! Sorry!

darkie, do you know the lady that was holding the mug for the picture?

FWIW the beer is dreadful. I seem to recall that had several taps so you might be able to get something else in the mug -- but I don't think the selection ventured beyond a choice of several awful brews.

Sorry if this is asking the obvious, but if you want the mug and don't like the brew can't you just pour it down a drain somewhere? :confused3

You can get any (alcoholic) beer in the mug, even Bud Light.

Of course. Early in the soft-opening last year, when they still had bar stools, I picked up a free beer this way. Folks bought one, then offered to pour it into my almost-empty cup. :goodvibes

Really? Mine has the dishwasher safe logo on the bottom and has been through almost daily since October and it's still in perfect condition. :confused3

Mine has a cup and fork logo at the bottom above "wash thoroughly before use", but at the top it states NOT microwave or dishwasher safe. I think the cup/fork is just a logo for...washing dishes? Weird of them to put it on there, IMO.

Not sure if this is too off topic, but the cup fork logo means that the plastic is safe for containing food or drink. Some plastics should not come into contact with food.

Agreed there! The only American beer I really like is Yungeling. Everything else....eh.[/QUOTE]

I totally agree. except it's hard to find up here in michigan. that's our beer of choice in FL. what all is on tap thesedays at the HH? will probably get the mug for a friend back at home.

Don't recall what's on tap there but don't waste your time looking for it -- usual array of sex-in-a-canoe junk.

FWIW, there are plenty of good American beers... just stick to the microbrews. Many of them are excellent. You just won't find them in most theme park taps.
