Is the HM overlay a little different this year? (Spoilers!)

We just rode it for the first time this year, and we all thought the ballroom was different (the gingerbread house of cards, the coffin spilling out with snow and pumpkins). Maybe the gift wrapping room as well. Are we right?

Also, there was no toffee! The CM told us they haven't been able to find the almonds they need and there hasn't been any toffee for a month. Bummer.

Finally, we were going up and over into the parking deck around 7:38 this morning, and I swear it was more crowded than we've ever seen it, except for holidays. I will say that because of the Halloween parties, CMs have been blacked out almost every weekend in October except for today, so maybe that's part of it, but WOW.

Every year it seems the Mansion is a little different during the holiday. The ginger bread cake is always different but also little things here and there are different as well.

The attic where the presents are is always different and the gingerbread house in the ballroom scene is also always different

It changes a bit each year. Things get moved around. Little details change. There are actually little things that change or get added in just for the holiday season too (post-Halloween Time), so HMH might not even be exactly the same in every room/scene from Halloween Time to the Holidays, though the majority of the ride stays the same.

I guess we haven't paid that much attention in years past, LOL! I will definitely look closely when we ride again in mid-November, thanks! And the monkeys will be on my list for sure!

As others have said, the gingerbread house is the most obvious thing that changes from year-to-year. It's made of real gingerbread (and other sweets), so each year has a new design (I have pictures for the last few years in this post). The coffin spilling out stuff has been there in the past, but exactly how things are laid out changes from year-to-year. For the most part, the attic remains the same, but the locations of some presents (along with the Monkey Bridge and the present for Bill King) change from year to year. And of course, this year, the Hatbox Ghost is new!

The Monkey Bridge moves location every year. This year it's on the right side of the vehicle, slightly above eye level, in a cage. When you see the snake with the list coming out of it's mouth, look back towards the post and you should see the bride.

The present for Bill King is the last one on the left side of the car. It's on the floor, with the tag facing slightly away from the car.
