Is the heat unbearable in late July/early August?

DH likes Tevas....I prefer being barefoot, but since the parks frown on that :) I usually buy Earth Shoes sandals (my feet are pretty tough, so I don't need super-protective sandals like DH)

DH got his Tevas on Amazon for about $50, which was half the price of our local stores.

I will say, if you normally wear sneakers everywhere, beware of sun burnt feet tops. DH always wears sneakers, and the tops of his feet burnt SO bad last time :( I won't wear tank tops, as shoulders can get easily burnt, facing direct sunlight as they do. JMO I do not burn easily, but being in the parks all day in a tank, I had some red shoulders that day. IMO T-shirts aren't that much hotter.

Definitely sunscreen on the feet! I picked up a pair of lattice croc flip flops in Sydney and wore them to the beach and while we were at Uluru. By the third time I finally remembered, but I still have a very faint criss-cross tan line across my toes. :)

I live in a similar climate. It's hot without reprieve starting July 4. Sure, it's hot before that, but the evenings cool off.

That said, I went to DW 7 mos pregnant in July one year. It was the year we had a drought and record highs at home, so Florida was an improvement.

The key to enjoyment and survival was going to the park at RD, staying until 11 am, leaving and crashing until 5 or 6 and head back.

There is a lot of spill over a/c from the rides which helps. And, you can cool off on rides and such. So, you're not in constant misery.

If my super pregnant self could do it, almost anyone can. We had a blast. August might be pushing your luck.
