Is the grocery stop more important to you than getting the free ME ride?

I'm trying to make this decision for our upcoming BCV 5 day trip in June before getting on the Magic. All we really want is OJ, milk, water and cereal. So do you think I'm better off just going to the BCV grocery store and paying big bucks or paying a 50.00 one way ride from our usual driver to stop at the grocery store?

If that's all you're buying, then take ME and buy at the resort. Even with paying "big bucks" for the items, you won't pay $50 more!! And it will be much less hassle since you won't have to store anything if your room isn't ready when you arrive.

I agree with Granny. The stuff you plan to buy is usually about what we end up buying at the BWV store at some point during a stay anyway - even with a car. Use ME if you want to and get what you need at the resort store. It'll be a LOT less hassle and you'll save by not paying for other transportation.

I would go with the ME as well. We have used and liked the service, but individually, when we've been on different flights for instance.

We've debated over this for a while. We signed up for ME, but we're gonna take the $55 ride so we can get things for the room. We're staying for 9 days, so we'll need more than just bare neccessities. Plus we'll need some beer, WDW's $5 beers can start to get expensive. Then we'll just take the ME back to the airport when we're leaving.

Go with ME, order a case or two of water from Staples--it will be there when you arrive, and purchase the rest of your items from the store at BC. You'll send more on transportation than you will spend on groceries if that is all you are buying.

How about using one of the grocery delivery companies? You could take ME and have them deliver your stuff. They may have a minimum order though, I'm not sure. Anyone know if they would deliver beer and wine?

Dont forget about the gardengrocer.com, excellent service and everything you need. Shop online and they deliver to your room, good prices, nominal delivery fee. Cheaper than the towncar!

I ran the numbers and it would have been cheaper for us to take ME and place a grocery order.

I found the prices to be pretty reasonable. Mostly retail pricing for bread, juice and chips, milk.

Dont forget about the Hess station right across from BW for Beer and Soda Chips Krispy Kreme donuts.

We ran out of some staples on our last trip, and we had a car, but I did not want to leave property, so I just purchased at the resort and it wasnt that bad. Maybe would have saved $1 per item if I had went to Wal-Mart, but I needed less than 5 items, so it wasnt worth the drive.

With just a few items to buy I think shopping in the resort and using ME makes more sense. Could you pack a box of cereal or have it in your carry-on luggage? I usually pack peanut butter and a bag of mini bagels for breakfast-it doesn't take up much room. :)

Last December we used ME. I brought - Coffee, cereal, bagels, sugar, snacks, laundry detergent, bounce, etc. in my luggage. I brought an extra bag since I didn't have to lug it anywhere. We purchased - beer, milk, cream, butter at the Hess gas station at the front of the Boardwalk. The only thing I was concerned about in the luggage was the liquid Tide (little bottles from Target - 4 washes $.99 - just put it in a couple of ziplock bags it did fine)

We had a great experience with ME.

I was pleasantly surprised by the prices at the Hess Station. Quite reasonable. I only wish they could sell Pepsi products there.

Maybe I'll look into the Hess station. Where is it? I know I've seen it on many visits. I hope they have a nice variety of beer

We are staying at BWV and we have never gone to Hess. How do you carry things back? We will have two rolling back packs, do you take something like that to bring things back?
