I'm sure somebody can clear this one up as I feel like the last time I went and stood next to that huge rag doll it wass all a dream.
Ta.

When we were there in April 2004 the shop was closed and empty but the rag doll was still outside

No. FAO has closed all it's branches except the New York one. The large doll and teddy bear were sold to collectors earlier this year I believe. Sad! :sad2:

Thanks all, that's really sad I would have loved my two little girls to have seen that shop......oh well, at least it'll probably save me a buck or two (hundred!)
ta ra.

we used to love this shop
The first time we were there we met a family who live over the road from us
now that is a small world

The last time we were there in 2004 I think the whole shopping mall was nearly closed down

The shop was popular with us too, I believe FAO now only run a couple of flagship stores, one of which I am sure is in New York.

Remember staying opposite at the Rosen Plaza when Pointe Orlando 1st opened, it's a shame that many of the better stores there closed down.

My kids loved this shop, we did go in one in Las Vegas next to Ceasars palace in the forum shops last year, so they still had one. It was a funny place ot have one as most kids would buy either at Downtown disney or Toys R us

Pointe Orlando is undergoing a major redevelopment with new shops, restaurants and looks. Google in Pointe Orlando and have a look.

Ahhh I like pointe Orlando....when we were there FAO was closed but the icons were still there. We got talking to the guy in Worldport (Disney) and he told us about the remodelling that would be going on over the next couple of years (this was back in september 04). He gave us each a worldport pin which are now retired....to say i'd only just started pin collecting/trading I was a happy bunny!!!

I think what kiiled Popinte Orlando was the fact you had to pay to park. Not something the tourists and residents want to do when other nearby shopping malls do not charge.

FAO is soo expensive, like Hamley's kinda prices or possibly more. Not sure it had a market there since most people would buy toys at the parks or Toys R Us.
