Is the Fantastic Dining Package worth it if you have DDE?

DH and I always say we are going to catch Fantasmic and we never do for some reason or another. Usually because we have dinners booked elsewhere on property. We have the DDE card. I thought if I booked the package, this would insure that we see it this year, because I can't cancel at the last minute. But we'll get no discount with the package and the only time I could get is at 4:40pm, much earlier than we usually eat. Should we make a reservation at a more reasonable time and take our chances in line or keep the package? We would usually order an appetizer and entree, probably not dessert. What do you think?

Well, it kind of depends when you are going and how long you are willing to stand in line. You are correct, no DDE for package. But, if you could get 4:40, that's actually one of the later times as all times for the package are early. Sometimes they will release later times, about a month in advance, but it depends how full they are.

If you are going off season - you should get in line at least 60 minutes before the show to get a good seat. Peak season - at least 90 minutes before the show to get a seat period. We went first week of December, not peak season (but it was more croweded this year), went to theater about 40 minutes prior to show and it was standing room only.

I love the pkg, just because I hate to wait 60-90 mins & waste park time. Some people say the seat are not in that good of a location but we find them fine.

Sorry, I should have said the reservation is currently for Sunday march 12th. If we have to wait at least an hour for Fantasmic, I think it will be worth it!
