Is the evening parade (spectromagic) at MK worth going to?

We are going in August with 3 younger children (7, 6 and 2). Would it be worth it to keep them up late to see the Spectromagic parade & fireworks??

If so, any TIPS on where to sit, how far in advance we should find our parade spot and any quick exiting tips???

Yes the Spectro Magic parade is definitely worth seeing!!!!

We saw it last Sept. with my DD who had just turned 4. She loved it!!!! :lovestruc

We were not able to see the fireworks though because that would have just been pushing it too much!

We are going back this year the last week in Aug. and are definitely going to do the parade again and hopefully the fireworks too!

Plan on getting a spot at least an hour before the parade somewhere along the route. People definitely start staking out their spots an hour before hand.

have fun!

We really enjoyed seeing spectromagic last year. Our son was 2 at the time and he stayed up to see it (of course, during our trip he did not stay on his normal bedtime schedule and stayed up many nights until midnight). We sat/stood right at the entrance to MK (basically right where Main Street USA starts) and got to see everything really well (that's also where they started the parade so as soon as they finished we were out to the buses in quick time).

This is was probably our favorite parade. My sons (4 and 11months at the time) really liked it. We sat at the very beginning of the parade route right near the entrance and had a fantastic view.

We never miss spectro magic. One time the parade had just started, when a sudden downpour started. We stood and watched it in the rain. Yes we love it that much. We weren't the only ones either. Nobody left. It was crazy. The fireworks are nice, but not a must see for us.

Spectro and Wishes are the most magical things at WDW to me. :lovestruc

Definitely worth it to get to your parade spot early so you can be right up front and make sure to get a good view of the castle for Wishes.

The spectromagic parade gives me chill bumps. It makes me feel like a kid again and my kids LOVED it on our last trip. Stongly advise not to miss it.

The fireworks you can catch as you're walking to the car/bus. They're good, but they scare my son still. :confused3

This is the one nighttime show that I would make a point of seeing with kids the age of yours.

We have had good luck sitting on the curb in front of the fire station. The parade starts right there, so you'll be the first group to see it. As soon as it's over, you get to the exit, and you will beat the crowds. It works like a charm--just don't tell anyone, okay?

Definitely a must see! And do make sure you get a spot an hour before - although as it gets closer to parade time, tons of people will try to push their way in front of you and your kids! We've watched it several times at the beginning of the parade and enjoyed it there, but the last time we happen to be in Frontierland, so DH picked a spot at the very, very end of the parade and sometimes when the floats were exiting the parade route, they would get backed up and the characters would come over and give lots of attention to DS and DDs - it was really neat.

Thanks for all of the responses!!!!

Seeing that you all said its a "must see"........ we will be there to see it!!!! :thumbsup2

OH YES ,, It was so wonderful the first time I saw it I got the chicken skin.

You're going to love, love, love it !
