Is The CriCut Expression Difficult To Learn To Use?

Hi Everyone!!
I am new to all these electronic devices but after seeing some of the things people are making with them I would love to buy one. I have never even seen one in use. I have no experience whatsoever with the Expression or even the older ones so is it possible for a newbie to learn how to use these? Any opinions and thoughts are most welcome!!

No, its pretty simple, you just have to play with it a little bit. My sugestion is to get yourself a pack of cheap paper, and just start cutting things. Play with the pressure, speed and size & cut the same thing multiple times. Try the alphabets and basic shapes to start, save layers for later. You'll be awesome in no time!

I'm not good with any type of machinery AT ALL. . .but I had no problem learning to use it. I'm pretty visual, so the little screen helps me! I thought it was much easier to use than the baby bug!!

Thanks for your replies!!! I sure hope it's easy because I'm electronically challenged to say the least!!! I was thinking my 19 year-old son could help me out if nothing else!! Sad isn't it?

My partner gave me one for my birthday in August. I was sure it would take me forever to learn how to use it, but honestly, I picked up on it in no time and find it to be very easy to use! You're gonna love your cricut! These things are addicting, be prepared to neglect everything in you life for your cricut for the first week!

Well, I just ordered mine from HSN!! I got the $349 bundle for $297 after the 15% off coupon and I selected the FlexPay so I can spread out the payments. I can't wait until it gets here. I read the user's manual and other info on the CriCut website trying to familiarize myself. I just hope I can "catch on" quickly. I love the Mickey body parts book that's posted here on this board so I want to make one of those for sure!!!

I really like my baby Cricut and am hoping that I can find a good deal on the Expression (maybe for Christmas!)...the deals seem to be much fewer and farther between here in Canada! (but I can hope!).

The hardest part is figuring out where all the little pieces go once you cut out a figure. But once you get the hang of it the cricut it awesome!

Oh no kidding! Some of the character figures have a zillion pieces. I started making them a little bigger, just to practice and get the hang of it, and I have found that the more I practice the easier it gets, but wow, I had no idea how difficult it could be. I think it comes out better (for me) when I put the small pieces in before the big ones, but I'm not sure if that is how it's supposed to be done.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds that a little difficult!

Okay, no telling me about difficulties as I'm waiting for my Cricut to arrive!! Are you sure I can learn to use this machine? Will I ever get to make a Mickey body parts book? I'm getting really nervous!!
