Is the Blue Zoo worth the prices?

We are going down to WDW in July and staying at the Dolphin. How is the food at Todd English's Blue Zoo? Has anyone been to O'Hana lately for dinner as well? Went quite some time ago and wondered how it's been lately.

We ate there last summer and it was out of this world amazing...totally worth the money! best filet I ever had

We aren't people of great means who can afford to eat out every night and pay those types of prices, so we select one restaurant per trip to eat at that offers better quality and choices than what is typically found at Disney. Todd's Blue Zoo is such place, the food is really good and adventuresome and we really enjoyed it both times we've gone. The Flamed grilled filet and the tuna tartare are so delicious. The roasted beet salad is so refeshing and earthy at the same time. I would love to have the means to eat there more often, but it makes for a real special something to look forward to. Next time I'm having the Chilean Sea bass or the bacon wrapped tuna. Can yout ell I haven't had lunch, I'm salivating just thinking about it.

I hope to go again soon, however our traveling party this Feb. won't pay those types of prices so it will have to wait till June. :sad1:

We love the Blue Zoo and always include it as our last dining night out.

If we were only doing one high end restaurant on a trip we would be torn between Blue Zoo and Flying Fish.

Love Blue Zoo. The seafood appetizer for two is wonderful. Never had a bad meal here, have even taken the kids and they had plenty of options for them. I will say that I have not seen many people in there with children but ours have no choice but to behave at a nice meal, so it wasn't a big deal for us. My only complaint was on one visit when the hostess staff was extremely inadequate. They could not handle the convention crowds that had come is as walk-ins and they pretty much told me my reservation time would be pushed back "indefinitely." But that's what happens when you let young kids run the front of the house. Once I spoke to a manager, it was handled very well and our waiter took very good care of us.

It is well worth it IMO.

The seafood app is excellent as the PP stated. Some of the best oysters I have had.
The Cantonese lobster is one of my favorites as well as the daily whole fish.

I have never been disappointed, unlike many of the Disney run places.

Also for an in-expense quick bite check out the Dolphin Fountain.
It is a 50’s style diner with nice burgers and Ice Cream.
It is much more reasonably priced and better quality than the Disney equivalent.

As for Ohana, it was really good at one time, but not anymore IMO.
There is no way I would pay OOP for it.

I don't know. We ate there for DHs birthday dinner a few years back. I thought it was suuuuper expensive. Great food! We enjoyed it very much. But more expensive than any restaurant we've been to. DH ordered some seafood plate and it was nearly $40, no sides.

If you can afford it, it's definitely good food! But I've also had excellent food at CG, Le Cellier, Flying Fish (etc) which is less expensive.

Actually, with the exception of the Cantonese lobster and the top-level steak, the entree prices at bluezoo are lower than California Grill or Flying Fish (for instance tuna is $29 at BZ vs. $36 at CG). It seems like the Disney-run places have raised their prices, whereas some of the independents haven't. Anyone else notice this?
