Looks like the plane crashed somewhere between Castaway Cay and Sandy Point,Abaco Island. Trying to get to the abandon air strip on CC?


Stolen plane may have crashed off Abaco
A Seattle teenage fugitive who evaded capture for two years was being hunted by both the U.S. authorities and Bahamian police today after allegedly crash-landing a stolen plane on the Abaco Islands.

Colton Harris-Moore, from Puget Sound, north of Seattle, was dubbed the "barefoot bandit" last autumn after police found footprints in an Idaho airport hangar from which an aircraft was stolen. The 19-year-old walked away unhurt after crash-landing 420 kilometers away.

On Sunday a Cessna 400 aircraft, stolen from a locked hangar at Monroe County airport, was found crashed in about three feet of water near Sandy Point airstrip off the coast of Abaco Island. Local police handed out wanted posters for Harris-Moore.

Gee, CC has an abandoned runway there! Bet he was heading there when he ran into trouble trying to locate it. It's only a few miles between to 2 places.
If he did make it there, it would be the perfect place to hide out. Very little cold nights, plenty of food 3-4 times/week that can be stockpiled for the next day, some of it pre-packaged for storage.
Plenty of people to play with/steal from.
When he eventually gets bored, just look for another guy who looks like him, steal his KTTW card and get onto the ship for a luxury ride to PC with a nice hot cooked meal, and roaming the ship after hours is common.
Now, how would he get off the ship? That's a question that would need answering, but something he could get away with as well I imagine.

There was an article about him on Yahoo today. Looks like he's on Abaco. Also found the comments by his mother a bit ridiculous. Her concern is not that her son is a thief, or stole a plane...she's upset that he picked an island that has extradition with the U.S. She thinks it was really stupid of him not to go further south to a non-extradition location.

If this is the second plane he crashed, Im thinking he needs to steal some flight lessons. Either that or someone is throwing not enough bleach into the gene pool.

They now have photos imbedded on computer in the strips of the KTTW cards. I think it would be hard to get onboard with someone elses card.Especially after the original owner says mines missing and they find someone used it already.He may get onboard, but someone(at least theorettically)should notice something wrong and sweep the ship.He could always jump ship near shore to get back into the US.

But, complacentcy has never truly been eradicated so you never know.

He was found on the island of Eleuthera - a portion of this island is occupied by Princess Cruise Line's Princess Cay, their "private island" stop. I t doesn't sound like he made it there though - it sounds like he was caught on the northern part of the island.

Never thought of this but I'm glad he was finally found! I live in the same town as Harris-Moore does and this has been a long battle! People have felt unsafein good communitys for the past few years only question now is where will he spend his time tons of states want him and so do 3 countries (USA, Bahama's, and Canada) his moms is a idiot I've listened to numerous talk shows with her and she blames it all on insurance not paying to send him to childrens hospital. She also says she's proud of her son makes you feel so great to live near someone like that.

Glad he's going to serve a hell of a lot of time! (The Bahamian jails I hear are a great start for this guy!)
