Is the All-Star Movie Resort really all that bad? No Choice, we have to stay there :(

Thank you everyone for the responses. I really appreciate the info. I am not trying to be a snob and de-valuing the value resorts..by no means I am wealthy :lmao: Doing OK but not wealthy at all.
I just wanted to stay at a nice place for our first visit to WDW.

I think you will enjoy your trip. The Values are basic hotel rooms, but they are clean and comfortable. Disney is pretty good and providing a consistent level of quality and service---it won't be the Ritz Carlton, but it will probably be better than most budget/leisure-brand hotels you've had experience with in the past. The theme there is very "Disney".

Honestly it's hard to have a *bad* trip to WDW, no matter where you stay.

Nothing to fear. We stayed at the value resorts many times and had wonderful vacations. The rooms are small, but clean and functional.

We didnt' stay at Movies, but have stayed multiple times at POP, Music and Sports.

How many of you will be in the room? We found that as our kids got bigger, that we preferred larger accommodations.

That said, if the budget allowed for only a value room on a trip, we would certainly book it and not feel badly about it at all.

Also, if this is your first trip to WDW, then it will likely be park intensive and you won't be spending all that much time in the room.

Have a wonderful time!

I certainly wouldn't cancel the trip.
We aren't talking about some fleabag hotel here.
Sure, the rooms are small and basic, and maybe it's starting to show it's age.
But as others have said, this is Disney. The rooms will be clean, the service will be good, and Movies has a really fun Disney atmosphere.

It's been a few years since we stayed there, but we had a fantastic time and our kids loved the resort. My wife wasn't crazy about it and definitely preferred Port Orleans Riverside, but it certainly wasn't something that ruined her time. Like others have said, you are going to spend 90% of your time in the parks, so all you really need is a clean place to sleep.

My last trip was at ten music resort next to the movies and I loved it there.
We walked over to the movies resort and too really cute pictures.

You will have a good time. I've stayed mod and deluxe and still enjoy the values.
