Rewind a bit...Christmas Eve day...
I go to wake DD Brittany up from her nap to open her mommy and daddy presents (which was a good thing cause Santa ended up bringing her a TON of things) and she tells me she heard something up above her room. Of course, I think she was dreaming about hearing reindeer right? Tell her I didn't think it was anything, and we go to open presents. So we go downstairs and tell mommy. She says she heard something too.

Something's in the attic. DFIL brings us a squirrel cage trap to church that evening.
Christmas Day. DD is down for her nap again. After I shower, I hear the pitter patter above me.
Out to the car I go, grab the trap and climb the ladder to the attic and peek in. We have lots of boxes, but I don't see anything. Put the trap up, put a peanut in front to lead the animal into the cage, and a peanut inside. While I'm doing this I head "pitter patter, pitter patter" coming towards me.
So I close the hatch to the attic quickly and stand there listening.... pitter patter. pitter patter. silence... pitter patter. pitter patter. silence...
ka-ching
Peek through the hatch again. Hello Mr Squirrel! You're now my prisoner! Mr Squirrel was not very happy being caged. He protested quite a bit.
On the way over to the Inlaws for Christmas dinner, we let Mr Squirrel go in a park a long way from our house. He ran from that cage rather fast.
Guess I didn't know that we were having guests over for Christmas this year.
