Is that mac & cheese on my burger?! -- HAPPY NEW YEAR! [updated 01.01.15]

THANK YOU everyone for your words of encouragement & sympathy. i really appreciate each & every one of them.

it has been a very difficult transition for us. i feel more sad now (6 week after). emme misses her papa very much. she isn't crying as much these days which is very positive.

on the bright side, we leave friday for emme's 5th birthday celebration at disney!

i'm going to try and squeeze in a review or two before then.

again, THANK YOU for your kind words. :cheer2:

I will be following along. Also, I want to send you my condolences to you & your family.

Patty, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. My husband & I are planning a getaway to WDW in March, so came here to read some dining reviews to get in the Disney mood. I was so excited to see your name, then your dad popped into my head. I haven't been on this board since before our September trip. I remembered your dad had been sick.

I lost my dad to cancer 18 years ago when he was only 64. I still miss him so much every day.

I hope 2015 brings healing to your heart. Your dumplings look awesome, by the way! Can't believe how big Emme's getting. She is beautiful!

I havent posted on the boards in awhile, and I follow you on IG. I just want to tell you how sorry I am or your loss of your father. You have such a beautiful family and Emme brings so much joy. I love seeing your photos and seeing how strong and happy you two are! Hope youre haveing a great trip:wizard:

Patty I've been following you on IG (ashzacher, the random girl liking all of your posts) -- your trip looks like a blast! Can't wait to read about it here. :)

So sorry for your loss Patty. Prayers for healing and comfort in the coming year to you and your family.

I'm sorry for your loss of your father. I hope you and your daughter have a great time at Disney for her 5th birthday! :wizard:

I just wanted to say that I loved your entire post about making dumplings for New Years. Everything looked delicious and the pictures had me starving even though I just had lunch. :teeth: I look forward to reading the rest of your reviews!

Patty I too am so, so sorry to hear about your father. Life just seems so unfair at times. I completely understand what you mean about feeling sadder as time goes on; it is very difficult as the shock subsides and reality begins to hit home. He would have been so happy to know you carried on your New Year's Day tradition.

I usually lurk on your dining reports, which are always great!! I just wanted to say sorry for the loss of your father. Hoping 2015 brings you healing and happiness!!

So sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your traditions and the beautiful food.

We are here at Disney!

Im posting pics on IG if anyone wants to follow: disney_patty

If anyone else is here, would love to say hello!! :)

i just had to sit in awe and stare! I love with a passion Korean food and while growing up in California it was plentiful. Since I moved to Iowa, I haven't found any. You are incredibly talented...I never knew the process that went into making the food.

Thoughts are with you and your family as you get through this time. I am sure he was there with you while you carried on the traditions!

Just added you on Instagram - my id is dgthree, same as here, although I only have 1 pic up there.

I'm sorry for your loss. Your Korean dish sounds amazing. I'm sure you and your father had many special moments, celebrating the new year together.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. Cancer just needs to disappear off the face of the planet. Carrying on family traditions is a great way to grieve & carry on their legacy, even though at the time it seems like the hardest thing to do ever. Hopefully this trip will give you both some happiness that you so deserve.
