I have read a little about the new Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game at the magic kingdom. I have three teenagers and was wondering if it would be something that is worth the time taken away from touring the park.
We are all Disney heads and have been to the MK many times but we love what we love and if this is something my teenagers would deem "stupid" I would rather not waste valuable time. However, they do love all things Disney. ( Mamma raised 'em right!)
Again, I know very little about this game except it involves trading cards that you get at guest services(?) when you enter the MK.
Any thoughts?

My husband and I played the game almost every time we were in the MK on our honeymoon in July. I am 27 and he is 29 and we had fun going portal to portal and collecting cards. So depending on your kids they probably would enjoy it.

My 8 year old daughter has expressed interest in doing this on our trip next month. I have to admit it does look like fun, but as the OP wondered, is it worth taking time away from the park? How long does it take to complete? My original thought is that since we have park hoppers, to have our regular MK day and do the game on another day........she may lose interest by the time we arrive but I wanted to get some feedback in case she doesn't.

It is fun, people of all ages do it. I've done it and I'm an adult(-ish). You start it at the fire-house at the front of the park, not guest services. The fire-house is near there though, just to the right of it. If you're only doing one day at Magic Kingdom maybe focus on the rides and park itself because this is going to take a while to complete. Or maybe just do a couple of stops on the quest to see if it flies with you.

It is fun, but only if you don't have more pressing priorities. We were at WDW for the second trip in 3 months (it was a do-over, the 1st one had challenges), and we had hit all our favorites at MK so we decided to play. We -DD11 & I - LOVED it! It is pretty mindless, but the animations were cool. It was a neat way to pass an evening waiting for fireworks. We didn't have the patience to stand in lines for rides or characters - we had done that all week.
