Looking at booking a hotel for Nov. 3-6, 2015 and prices are high with many hotels already sold out. Anyone know why??? I can't find any special event happening at Disneyland and I don't see any conventions at the convention center either. Am I missing something?

Sometimes there isn't a specific event, they just hold a block of rooms. But this is the weekend where they normally shoot the Christmas parade, so they could be reserving a block of rooms for that.

November 3rd will be my 42nd wedding anniversary.... pixiedust:
Staying home, so we won't be adding to the crowd.

Other than that, I haven't seen anything special tied to those dates. Figment doesn't have anything on the thread to show why hotels are sold out. http://www.disboards.com/threads/2015-calendar-of-events-school-breaks-and-dlr.3358090/

Strange. We were there last year during that weekend and nothing was happening, however there was some Hello Kitty convention going on nearby. :)

Thank you everyone! I guess I'll just wait a little longer to see if there are better rates. I thought if I booked really far out I may get a good deal...but...maybe not! Congrats on your anniversary Geemo and thanks for the link too!

What hotels have you been looking at? I have been comparing hotels for 3 different weeks throughout the year and that week is one of them. I have found it to be the least expensive week when compared with an April week and September week.

The only thing I can think of is the Christmas parade. We're set to be there Nov 1-5 and I noticed when I went to look at adding another day, the hotel was sold out of our room type for Nov 5-6. So, that makes me think something is going on (they did have a bunch of other room types available, just not the one we had). We went a few years ago during that week (it's my eldest daughter's birthday week) and the only super busy time was the weekend (which was the Christmas parade taping). I'm hoping that the week will be really slow and nice leading up to it, but now you have me a little concerned.
