Is River of Lights dining package worth the extra TS credit?

We already have a meal booked at Tusker House but was considering checking to see if I can switch it to the package. That will cost an extra table service credit, right? Is it worth it? Will we not be able to secure another good viewing spot if we don’t do the package? I’ve never seen ROL so I’m not even sure of the set up. Thanks!

It’s not an extra credit, but you do have to book it as the package. I would use the website and not the app to search for the package and reserve it. Totally worth it if you’re going to Tusker House anyways.

You can use a fast pass for a good viewing location. I dont believe it will cost an extra credit. Last year I got show packages at AK and HS and only used 1 credit at Tusker House and Hollywood and Vine. Unless something changed, it should be one.

Side note, you get great up front seats for the ROL and Fantasmic, but up front means you are the last to leave. Very long exit.

Tusker House is only ONE credit for the ROL package. Might as well book it if you're eating there anyway and can get the time you want. Doesn't cost you anything extra with the dining plan.

We used a FP for ROL and had a great view. But if you're eating there anyway you can save a FP. We have TIW and can't use the discount on a package so we chose to do the FP.

Are you positive its only ONE credit? The website seems to say 2 and I was chatting with the Disney cast member and they said its 2. Maybe it changed?

I am wondering if the 2 credits comes into play because the Dining Package page includes information about Tiffins? Will be interesting to hear how this all shakes out.

I have the ROL package for Tusker House in August. Under my reservations on MDE it states it’s only 1 dining credit. I assume it’s because if you choose Tiffins that’s 2 credits.

1) ONLY if you are an ABC/Disney shareholder and want to possibly increase your annual dividend.
2) The added credit ($7 per person, not an extra DDP credit) is great for WDW profits but a TERRIBLE deal for patrons and guests.
3) Enough Said.

Lori is correct...the website has been this way since they started the ROL dining package and Tusker has been only one credit the whole time. It hasn't changed, but this is the third thread in about 10 days wondering about it.

No. ROL is fun to watch, but not that good. We burned a FP and it was a questionable use of a FP. I would not waste an extra TS credit for it. if yo can do Tusker House with the RoL package for 1 TS, do it.

To be fair, the Disney website says it is 2TS and if you have never booked it before, how would you know it has been 1 credit the whole time? I was also wondering the 1 TS vs 2TS credits, since I booked it under the impression it was 1 TS, so I did a thread search today to see if that was accurate. I had the intention of giving away the ROL tickets (already going earlier in the week) to a random family, if they wanted them. I could only book Tusker under ROL package (no availability under no ROL) and thought that if it was 1 TS, why not because I could give away the tickets to a family. MDE does not show TS credits for me, possibly because my dining plan does not show up due to having a dvc booking. If it is actually 2 TS, that messes up my dining credit reservations for the trip.

If one credit, definitely worth not tying up that third FP. If you don't have to wait til the late night show, you can use your 3 early and start grabbing the bonus ones. Why I don't use FP for any of the nighttime shows.

ROL was a disappointing show. I would neither pay extra for a package nor waste an FP on it. Any seat in the house will be fine since there isn't nearly as much spectacle to the show as Fantasmic, or even better World of Color (in DL), to which ROL owes its roots. The music is dull, the projections tiresome, and the "plot" muddled. It's a gorgeous venue--too bad it's wasted.
