Just wondering if this package is explained somewhere in detail.

thanks

Also DID YOU think that the value was worth the cost of it???

This is the link directly from Disney

Here is something I pasted from another website that breaks it down for you....

Romantic Escape at Sea Add-on
Want to impress your significant other and add a little romance to your cruise? The "Romantic Escape at Sea" add-on provides you with a lot of wonderful extras for $339 per couple. It's available on any 3-, 4- or 7-night Disney Cruise, and as of 2005, also on Land & Sea packages.

For the extra fee, you get:

Romantic gift amenity delivered to your stateroom (one per package - this is usually the Romance Basket that includes photo album, champagne and chocolates)
Couples massage at the Vista Spa & Salon (you can choose the Well-Being Massage for two, or the Spa Taster for two* - does not include gratuity)
Priority seating at Palo for one dinner (package covers the usual nominal per-person fee)
Romance turndown service (one night - don't want to spoil the surprise, but rose petals are involved!)
Champagne breakfast in bed (one morning - this is a full breakfast, from a much more extensive menu than you usually get from the ship's standard continental breakfast room service)
*Unofficially, DCL has also allowed one person to get two treatments, choosing from the Well-Being Massage and/or the Spa Taster.

An unadvertised aspect of this add-on is that you get to pre-book your Palo reservation and spa service about 3-4 weeks in advance of your cruise. (You'll be contacted by Disney.) At that time, if you are taking a 7-day cruise, you can also choose to pre-book the Palo brunch and/or "high tea" if you wish, for the usual nominal per-person fee. (In other words, extra Palo reservations aren't included in the package, but you can book them in advance.) You can also request a particular dining rotation if you wish.

The nice thing about the pre-booking feature is that you don't have to race around when you get on the ship -- your reservations are already made, so you can just relax. Unfortunately you can't pre-book any additional spa treatments that are not included in the package, though.

The value of the items you receive is approximately $64 for the gift, $242 for the couples massage, and $20 for the Palo fee (total $326), plus the additional value of the upgraded room service breakfast, and the wonderful luxury of pre-booking everything and being pampered with the romance turndown service!

I looked at doing the REAS for our honeymoon. In fact I still have it built into the budget, but I just can't bring myself to actually book it. For us, I don't think it would be worth it.

I don't plan on eating at Palo for dinner. I wouldn't mind doing the brunch, but I don't want to eat dinner there. We're on the 4 night cruise (first time) and I actually want to eat in all the restaurants and do Pirate Night.

I'm not a big breakfast eater - a bowl of cereal and some juice is pretty much it for me most days - so I don't think that I'd get a lot of use out of the in-room breakfast.

The big deal breaker for me was the massage. I love massages, but there's no way I'd pay $242 US for a couple's massage when I can get one here for just over $100 CA, or about 1/3 of the price. Yes I'm frugal, but I'd rather save the money and get the massage at home. Then I can schedule it for a week or so after I get back, when we're depressed about not being on the cruise.

Really, a couple's massage for $100 total? That's a great price! Yes, if you're not into the spa, then skip the REAS.

I did book the REAS and had the same reservations as the earlier posters.

I LOVED not having to do the ressie rush - one less thing to think about. The peace of mind was valuable!

It was fun to have the gift basket waiting for us - champagne, chocolates and a small photo album.

We loved the couples massage; DH had never had a professional massage, He loved it!

Breakfast on the verandah was nice (ordered enough for the whole family - beware of dry pancakes though!), but could easily bring a tray down from Topsiders.

I also didn't think I'd care about Palo dinner - wanted to do all the menus in the regular dining rooms. BUT am so glad we did do dinner (and brunch!) at Palo's - fabulous! (btw, on Palo's night we went to early seating with our children and had an appetizer while they ate dinner).

The real motivator for doing the REAS is pre-booking your ressies. And I was able to book my Palo brunch when I booked the REAS as well. If you are going to do spa and Palo, then definitely consider the REAS!

Good luck, happy planning! :sunny:

Add my vote that it was totally worth it. I actually got to enjoy my lunch instead of dashing off to sign up for things. As it turned out it was a good thing we had done it as I had a herniated disc and would not have been able to get all over the ship and stand in line.

what id the difference between well being massage and spa taster massage?

anyone else care to share opinions or experience with the package? :flower:

We haven't been yet but we decided to book it after reading the thread up top on the main cruise forum page. It's says LOOK HERE. It has a link to a thread all about the REAS with some pics too. It talked us into it.

I wish we could get a couples massage for $100. That's unheard of here in Atlanta. A 60 minutes ind'l massage goes for $110.

Just wanted to say hi and to wish you a wonderful time on your first cruise. If you do the REAS package when you return let me know what you think of it as i might want to do this for our 2006 Magic Cruise. Yes i booked it when i was onboard for Mousefest. Dean only told me not to buy jewelry he didn't say anything about a new cruise. Wishing you an early Bon Voyage.

Melinda

We've got REAS for our upcoming cruise because DH loves and never gets a good massage ( :rolleyes1 OK, I am not much of a masseuse...), I don't want to do the ressie rush, and I love that there will be a basket of goodies including champagne in our stateroom.
Now, if you don't need palo ressies, and don't think the massages are worth it, you can get the basket only by ordering it right on the Disneycruise website! Or a custom basket of goodies from the perfect gift. Something special without spending $339!
Enjoy, whatever you decide! ;)

I think I will get the package because I don't want to run around for ressies.

The main thing I am hoping for is the Dining rotation I want. I am such a planer that this is very important...DID everyone get the dining rotation you requested? What rotation did you request? We are hoping for APL and we asked and got late seating...What are my chances of getting APL?
