Is parking at the theme parks included with DVC purchased through Resale?

We are going to be new DVC members and have only purchased through Resale. I have been reading the boards and it looks like parking at the DVC resort is free for both Direct and Resale members. Does that free parking extend to the theme parks as well?

Theme park parking is included for anyone who stays onsite at a Disney-owned resort, inclduing a DVC resort, regardless of how they pay for it.

Thus, any DVC stay gets theme park parking.

This isn't a contracted benefit on the contract, nor is it paid for via dues, so that could change over life of contract, but it would change for ALL owners.

As long as you are staying onsite, you get to park for free,

No DVC members get free theme park parking without being an onsite guest.

Parking isn’t free for hotel guests now, you have to pay, which then allowed free parking at the parks as you’ve already paid per night.

I was told that you get to park at the resorts for free on a points stay but had to pay to park at the parks, is that incorrect?

That is incorrect. Both will be at no cost.

During any stay on points, yours, someone else’s, resale, direct, rented, parking is currently free at the resort and parks.

Yes, if you are staying at resort......

No, to free theme park parking, need annual pass for that!

Sorry but that is partially incorrect.
Free parking at the theme parks is a benefit to anyone staying onsite and it's also a benefit to AP holders.

When I bought a contract direct, the Guide told me specifically that Theme Park Parking was not included..........

You either got incorrect information or you misunderstood what you were told.

There is no charge to park at the theme parks if you are staying onsite. However, if you are staying offsite, being a DVC member will not get you free parking at the theme parks. You will get free parking if you have an AP regardless of where you stay.

Guide definitely said no theme park parking with DVC only Resort parking. So appears may have been wrong......

No. Technically the guide was right. Merely being a DVC owner doesn't get you free theme park parking. However, if you use your DVC membership to stay at a DVC resort, then you get free theme park parking. Its a pretty fine distinction.

Unless the salesperson meant you don't get free theme park parking just because you are a DVC member. You get free parking at the theme parks as a benefit of staying in a WDW or Vero Beach resort. Vero Beach is the only non-local resort that gets you free theme park parking while you are staying there.

That is true - just being a DVC member doesn't mean you get free parking. However if you are using that contract to stay onsite you get free theme park parking. If you wanted to go to the theme parks when you were staying somewhere else and not onsite then you'd pay for the theme park parking. ie - ownership itself doesn't qualify you for the free theme park parking but staying onsite with that contract does.

Ah. As I stay every other year and there are two of us, one of us was going to get an annual pass just to get theme park parking.

But as we would only ever be staying DVC every other year, then it makes sense just to stay on resort and get tickets, rather than annual pass each time.

The guide may have meant it's not a perk of DVC membership. And it's not.

DVC members can bee an entitled lot. You don't get TP parking if you're off-site even if you have a blue card. You can't use the pool at your home resort if you're staying off-site (or if you're on site, not at that resort, and it's not on the hopping list). Your free resort parking is for a stay in a DVC unit on cash or points, and you don't get to park at Poly because you own Poly but you're not staying there, because your fractional ownership also applies to parking and if you're not using your fractional ownership in a certain way at the time, the privileges also aren't yours.

If you stay at your resort but pay through a 3rd party you have to pay to park at both resort and parks.
