Is paint the night coming to WDW for the 45th?

Just looking at this page, is there a source that Paint The Night is not coming? It sounds like MSEP is coming to a close this Fall. With an official announcement that PTN is closing 9/5, I just feel like this is too much of a coincidence. Again, unless there is a source that is saying PTN is not coming, I just feel like there is a strong chance that it may make the East coast move for the 45th anniversary.

There are just as "credible" rumors that PTN is to return to DL in November and next Summer.

Only management really knows, and sometimes even they haven't made up their minds. Nothing is set in stone until the press release goes out.

Here's what I've heard.

MSEP closes September 10th.

Paint the night is going seasonal at DL and will return for the holidays at DL.

WDW management wants PTN badly because they don't want to pay for their own new parade. DL really doesn't want to give up the parade.

MSEP isnt closing, it's going down for refurb and if we were going to get paint the night, it would have to close before labor day because it would take longer to get it out here. October 1st is the beginning of the fiscal year so brand new budget.

Again, I am just saying. I have heard both. Both seasonal DLR and WDW move. I think people are hearing what they want to hear on this matter as of now and I have yet to see anything come out that says one or the other. On this board, I just always feel like people like seeing sources. Again, I am just saying.

But you took it all one step further by using the lack of a source as a source.

I can absolutely agree that nobody who knows right now is talking.

How do you know this?

I follow at least a dozen sources and almost all of them say PTN is not coming to WDW and it's going seasonal. I think DL fans would be quite upset to lose their parade to WDW.

The only reason I think they may move PTN to WDW is that it saves WDW money (since they don't want to pay for their own new nighttime parade and it's all about saving money and regardless of how much it costs to ship that parade to Orlando, it's still cheaper than building a new parade and with attendance down at WDW, they may see this as a way to boost attendance) and there is a precedent there since they did originally move MSEP from DL to WDW. Were DL fans upset when they moved the MSEP?

I can tell you from what I've heard yes WDW management wants PTN so they don't have to spend money on a new parade but DL won't give it up. WDW is rather cheap these days.

I believe MSEP fans were upset when they originally lost MSEP because their replacement kind of sucked.

I don't know the answer. But when MSEP moved to WDW, it had been at DLR a lot longer than the 15 months PTN has been at DLR.

So the question becomes - who wins this battle royale and can/will HQ step in and say "you will do this/we aren't doing this"?

If this is true then I am even more excited as I love PTN and we will be at Disney if this opens. We get to say goodbye to MES as well, which I'm happy about as I was looking forward to watching that this trip. Pretty please Disney let this be true :wizard:

Yet...still...all rumors based on one tweet with no corroboration.

I don't know how reliable the guy is who tweeted this out, but he also said that PTN may be a possibility starting in 2017 post holidays. If they took PTN down for refurb and MSEP down for refurb, then shipped them to the opposite coast, this could make sense. Of course, it could make sense that they simply don't have nighttime parades or rehab both parades and keep them on their respective coasts. We simply won't know until Disney actually makes an announcement.

Anything "may" happen, but he is just speculating like us. None of us have inside knowledge. Any possible outcome of which parade ends up where will not surprise me.

God I hope so, all of DL's nighttime festivities look amazing. Paint the Night is the best parade I've ever seen... on youtube. I've never been to California, but this parade and World of Color almost made me.

If they want to make a trade we'll give them the Electric Parade for Paint the Night. We'll even throw in some Florida oranges for California oranges as well.

Well soon all of DL will be a firework show from the 50s/60s and no parade and only 1 good show. And PTN is not coming to Florida, all it takes is a person with common sense to realize that. And I prefer MSEP to PTN.

And I prefer MSEP to PTN.

"Electric" is nice, but I think a majority of DW fans want something new. They could always bring back the old one in the future anyways. With new characters and technology.
