I posted over there too... but you guys are SO MANY!
Any opinions or experience in October at DL? I'm thinking late month.

Just be sure to visit the refurb list. It can be brutal in September and October. Be sure to check the hours as well.

But Haunted Mansion Holiday should be up by then.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

They don't have the big Halloween events like WDW.

Weather should be nice . You might even find decent (for DL) on site rates.

They do decorate but more of a fall theme than a Halloween theme. You will find some characters in costume, but not many. And they do have an after hours party in California Adventure. Not quite up to scale as WDW (no parade, no fireworks), but it's still fun. Everyone (almost) dresses up, there are trick or treat stations, pictures with the villains, cool lighting effects, free games in the Paradise Pier area, special shows. We really enjoy it.

We love going in October. Crowds are lower and the weather is still quite nice.

Oh no... No Halloween? Shoot. Do they decorate at all?

Yes they do decorate, and they do have some halloween events. Maybe not as big as WDW but they do have that "not so scary..." thing and trick or treating.

We are going in October I think the 20th&21st. I think the first weekend in Oct might be Gay Days which happened to coincide with the charity walk we did last year. It was packed! I think other than that the crowds are decent and the weather is usually great. The Halloween decorations (what they had) were pretty cute.

Last year we went in late September. Some of the Halloween decorations were up! But the Haunted Mansion was closed (opened the day we left!) and no Aladdin Musical (they were recasting.)

This year we're going in October, so I expect to see more Halloween decorations, the Haunted Mansion will be open and crossing my fingers on Aladdin!

Yes, I thought so. I want to avoid Gay Days... cant take the crowds. The bummer is that is when my kids have two days off school for teacher inservices! Id rather take them out of school and go to a less crowded park.

IMO it's an awesome time to go. With the after hours party in DCA they are getting closer to what WDW has to offer. They also have the Haunted Mansion Holiday which IMO is better than anything WDW does including the parade and fireworks.

We have went during that time twice (2002 and 2005) and we there were very few things closed (CAl Screamin shouldn't count since that was because of the accident and it opened two days after we left - open for most of October).

The only thing IMO that is kind of shaky for that time is the weather. Could see lots of rain. Sadly we say lots of rain in 2005 but in 2002 not a drop.

The weather should be great! Bring a jacket for the morning and evening. Parks open shorter hours though.
