We are planning a trip this October staying at All Star Movies. We have never gone in October. We have gone in March, May, June and July. We will be leaving before Columbus Day. Is this a good week crowd and weather wise? We can use EMH and not sure if we are going to MNSSHP. Thanks for any help and tips.

That is a good time to go crowd level wise although it can be some what hot. So plan accordingly. Drink lots of water.

Yes you can use the EMH.

We went Oct 7-14 last year (which included Columbus Day) and we rarely waited more than 20 minutes for any ride. We didn't even bother with fast passes. It was pretty hot the first couple days, but the last four were perfect. Beware that Epcot will be crazy busy because of the Food and Wine Festival. I'd recommend using Touring Plans for the crowd calendar to tell you what parks to do what day. It worked awesome for us. Just a note, to avoid crowds it recommends you NOT go to the park with EMH.

We're going that week this year - want to get 3 trips out of our APs, so going a little later than we usually do.

It is HOT in Florida then, usually. You might get a cool front, but don't count on it - it will feel the same way it did when you went in the summer.

I have touring plans and plan on using it wisely to pick the low crowd parks each day, and may wind up using the guide to pick our rides out when we do Epcot.

Still, it looks like it will be fun. Definitely do MNSSHP. It's wonderful and well worth it, just take it easy the morning of (we are planning to do something at the resort or similar that day) and you will have a blast.

Be aware that October can be extremely hot and humid. Went in mid-October 2009 and it was low-to-mid-90s every day with high humidity. Yikes! It may or may not be that hot, but be prepared that it might happen.

October is also hurricane season. You may experience brief rain showers, no rain at all, or possibly a hurricane -- no way to tell. We had a hurricane in 2005, but it actually wasn't bad at all - blew through in less than a day and then the weather was beautiful!

Not trying to scare you, but you should know what might be possible. I've done five trips in October, so obviously I think it's a good time to go!

We've been going that week for the last three years - it's getting more and more crowded. We're skipping it this year. I would prefer going in the last week of September or first week of October.

Thanks everyone for your info. All tips are helpful. We can only go when kids are out of school and I really did not want to go in the summer. That leaves major holidays or Fall Break in Oct. So we are going to give Oct a try. Looking forward to seeing the mouse :)

I went last October 2012. We left before the hurricane but did keep us from spending a couple of days at the beach, not knowing whr it was going to hit! My husband and I stayed at All Sports /tickets with Park Hopper/ Free dining/ for about 1200. I don't think we have ever went that cheap! We had great weather and no rain. We usually go in June or July and we always have the heat & rain! I took my longer shorts, pants and jackets. I wore my shorts most of the time, and I just needed a very light weight jacket or sweatshirt a couple of early mornings, that came off by or before lunch. The pool was cool because the night air was cool and had already droped the temperature down. I got in once and hubby didn't at all. So it was not as warm as I had expected. Several people complained about they thought it was supposed to be heated and were told by the lifeguard it would not be turned on untill November. But we didn't have any kids this trip and really was OK for us! We didn't spend alot of time at the hotel except to rest or sleep. Had a great time and I hope I get to go during that time again someday!
