Is national the only rental car at WDW?

We need to rent a car for the first part of our trip at US but once we get to WDW, I don't think we need one. The quotes I am getting for 11 days are outrageous (all over $300) and I figure we can save at least $100 by returning the car and taking a towncar back to the airport. I have checked on Nationals prices (get a quote of $201 for 4 days?) but wondered if any other rental companies were located at WDW for easy return or any suggestions on how to do this. We definitely need a car for the first 4 days because we are switching hotels 3 times. This is the last detail of our trip and I am feeling very frustrated. I have done so good with prices on everything else (Much thanks to these message boards!). I would love any suggestions.

National is the "official" car rental agency for WDW, so it is the only one "on-site", but there are other companies with locations that are nearby. For example:

Dollar has a desk inside the Courtyard by Marriot (one of the Downtown Disney Hotels).

Avis has a desk inside the Hilton Hotel (also one of the Downtown Disney Hotels).

There may be other companies with locations at one of the Downtown Disney Hotels as well. You can do a location search on the various web sites to see if the company has a location there.

Before you make a ressie, call to see if they have a complimentary shuttle that will take you back to your hotel (I would bet that they all do). Also make sure that you can actually drop a car off at that location and double check the hours that they are open. Most of the car rental desks inside a hotel do NOT have 24 hour service.

HTH. Good luck in finding a great rate.

Here is a link to the rental cars in the Airport and those that are just a shuttle bus away. I hope this helps.

CarolMN and NurseKim,
Thanks for the advice. I will check this out. I am finding that renting the car is the most difficult part of planning this trip. I can't stand spending so much money for a car that we probably won't use much but I think we are stuck because of switching hotels 3 times. I will definitely check out the drop off sites at Downtown disney and I will call to make sure we can get back!
Thanks!
