I mean he loves it once we get there but he would be happier if we just went to the beach for the week.

No he is not the only one! We live on the beach already, but every year he says next year lets go somewhere different. We already have to go to Texas at least once a year to see his family, so we always out vote him and go to Disney! He knows now that this is a battle he will never win since DD(2) now knows who Cinderella is!!princess:

Hello,
I feel your pain. My husband could care less. I really want to leave him at home and take a friend, but that would never fly! He even suggested we do a couple days at Universal:scared1: How dare he! No way am I giving up a milisecond to go there!! I just thought of it, I can go to WDW and he can do US:dance3:

My dad was the same way. After our trip in June 2005 he said he would never go back, he was sick of the crowds and the weather and I guess he didnt experience the disney magic as much as before lol. Well we're going back in May so I guess he changed his mind and I hope it isnt as bad as in June. I think he's more excited than the rest of us, he basically plans the whole trip (we get a say in some of the restauraunts) and the rest of us back our bags and just go lol. Hey whatever it takes, i'll follow any schedule as long as i get to go!! Maybe try switching the months that you go and see if that helps!!

My DH won't go at all. The first year I took the kids he paid for my Mom to go instead of going. Second time my sister and I took our kids (she's divorced). This summer its me, my two kids, my Mom, my sister and her three kids. DH hates crowds, lines, heat, rides, etc. There's no point in making him go and having him be miserable. We have more fun without him there. Also, I have four weeks vacation a year and he only has two so this way the kids get a vacation and then he and I do something without the kids so it works for everyone.

Wow!! I totally wish my husband would tell me he wasn't going. He doesn't complain about crowds, heat, or anything--until we get there. Then we are miserable.

My DH enjoys going once in awhile. He doesn't mind me and the kids tagging along when my parents go to WDW. I think DH has been 5 times in the last 11 years (his first trip) whili I have been twice that many times in the same amount of time. I was addicted to WDW before DH met me, and he knew what he was getting into :thumbsup2

This summer while I'm gone with the kids for two weeks, DH is going to get together with his buddies for a long weekend of camping, kayaking and fishing (not my idea of a good time). He's excited about that, the kids and I are excited about going to Florida and everyone is happy. In the fall DH and I will take a cruise without the kids which we're both happy about (although the kids aren't).

Thanks for starting this thread. I am in the same boat. My DH and I have been twice. Once by ourselves before kids and once with the kids. I have been one other time when I was a kid. He could care less if we go back or not. I am envious of the other DISers out here who have spouses/family members/friends that share the love and desire to go. I guess this is why I love these boards so much. It is a place where I can come and share memories with others and dream with other like minded people.

My DH loves WDW........not as crazy about the planning aspect as I am but he loves the place.
Currently I am planning this trip in 2 weeks......he is going to Key Largo for fishing after dropping us off at POP.
He loves fishing but, as I tell him of my WDW plans, he keeps saying, "I want to come with you!"
I have to keep reminding him that the fishing trip was planned first, I'm only "hitching a ride" to WDW.

Besides our teen boys would scalp him if he scraped the fishing for WDW.

So he has made me promise that we are definitely going again in 9/08! ::yes::

So glad to hear that the situation is the same with others. My DH enjoyed going to Disney when the kids were yonger but now wants to try "new" vacation spots. Who needs new? There's always something new at Disney!:yay:

My DH would be perfectly happy to just stay home. He doesn't like to go ANYWHERE. Once we get to WDW and are settled in, he likes it, but does not feel the need that DDs and I do to go back. He won't vacation anywhere else. DDs and I go without him more than not. He gripes that we get to "go have fun" while he "stays home and works", but that's his own choice.

My DH would rather be fishing!!! He went on our first trip... spent day 1 at TL, day 2 at AK and the rest of the week at the condo with the baby. He is going with us in December, and he definitely couldn't care less about the planning part. He glazes over every time I get excited about something and start to tell him.:rolleyes1

I read this on someone's sig

Disney ~ For those who get it, no explanation is necessary... For those who don't, no explanation will do!!

I agree 1000%:cool1:

I would rather be at DISNEY!!!!!!! I'm not a hunter, fisherman, or sports fanatic. I love going as much as I can. I'm the planner, ticket purchaser, ADR maker and anything else involved with going to Disney. I love going to Disney!!!!! I cought the bug back in 86' when as a family we went for the first time. Ever since then, we as a family have gone back every single year! Did I mention that I love going to Disney!!!!! All of our children are now gone and my wife and I love going just by ourselves. We're DVC owners at BWV since 98'. I can't wait to go back this Christmas with all of the family and grandkids and stay in our Grand Villa. This will be the first time "all" of us will be together at Disney since the nest emptied several years ago. Oh, by the way, have I mentioned that I love going to Disney!!!!!! I guess you could say that I'm a Disney fanatic.

Nope...not the only one. My DH didn't go on our last trip, and he isn't going on our next one either. He just isn't into crowds, lots of kids, heat, or rides...and he doesn't get the "magic" the way that I do.

It's fine by me, I'm glad that I don't have to try to make him like something for a whole week...that would ruin my vacation. He happily sends us on our way, and I've been fortunate enough to be able to bring my best friend with us last time, and for our May trip. Infact, my DH actually wrote in my Valentines Day card that he "promised to send me to Disney whenever I want to go" Wow huh?

Well, my DH would much prefer NO vacation at all, and if he's forced to go on one would pick a national park first. BUT, never relent girls!!! He finally consented last week after almost 6 years of begging LOL.. (that's why our plane tickets and hotels are already booked.. in less than a week... so he can't back out LOL)

My DH doesn't seem to like any vacations, mostly because he is cheap and doesn't want to over spend. He says all I care about is vacation :lmao: . truth be told before I was with him I probably went on vacation about 3-4 times a year to places like the Caribbean and cruises, sometimes Florida or Disney. I plan on taking the kids to Disney yearly. Family vacations are important quality time. He would rather spoend his dollars on material possesions instead of saving for family vacations :rolleyes1 . I guess we are pretty opposite with that.

Good job! That is exactly how I got DH to agree, he said alright and I booked immediately before he change his mind. I was dying to take DD6 (2.5 at the time) to see the princesses.
