Is "Modern Family" no longer funny, or is it just me?

I agree about Gloria also, she overplays her character and her whining screeching is now annoying. I like the episodes that have more of Lilly in them and the back and forth between her and her dads and the others on the show. The recent older Lilly is great, love her. They still have really great characters and actors on that show, so holding out hope and not giving up on it yet.

I have to agree...i was thinking this last night when I watched it...its like she is trying way to hard to be funny or something...instead she is annoying...seems to me that all of them are trying to be funny...instead of just being themselves...

I love watching Lilly...and her Dads together...she is just so matter of fact and knows her parents way to well :)

Watched and really had no laughs for the show....except for Lilly...what are the writers thinking! I feel like they are trying to make the show more like the show "Parenting"....the dynamics have changed....hope it gets better...

Funny, the only real complaint I have about the show is Lily. Ironically they fired the original twins who played her because they were worried that they wouldn't be able to cut it once they got older and more acting ability was required, yet they hire this girl(s?) who couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. I know she is young, but her acting is horrible IMHO.

I respectfully disagree. I love Lily. She always makes me laugh.

I also like the new Lily. Her line delivery can be kind of wooden but she has great comedic timing.

Everything I've read and heard from the creators and actors (Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet) is that the twins playing Lily hated being on set and cried all the time. The reason we only saw Lily looking solemn and never making a sound is that the twins were usually just holding it together enough for a take or two before crying for their mom/dad and being miserable. The girls just weren't happy being actors, and their parents decided to take them out of that atmosphere (and good for them to recognize it).

Either way, I like New Lily. Loved her turning on the dance tunes for Cam when he was primping in front of the mirror and the "I can't do this again" when they did the "Who wore it best?" thing.

I never thought it was funny in the first place.

I've tried to watch it but I just groan and cringe.

I'm like that about most popular comedies it seems...
