Is MGM and Marrakesh Possible?

We are planning on making PS seating times for 6:30 at Marrakesh on our MGM day (July 7). It is just my husband and I, and we thought we would be done with MGM by 5 pm or so. My plan is to go to Epcot to eat at Marrakesh, and then return for the late showing of Fantasmic. Is this a realistic plan? We have our own rental car, and we are staying at Shades of Green.

Any input about traveling back and forth would be great!

Actually, I think it's quite possible. You can take a boat from MGM to Epcot and where the boat lets you off is right in WS, not a far walk to Marrakesh. I would suggest maybe making your PS for 6pm so you have enough time to get back to MGM and get in line for Fantasmic. I wouldn't bother driving between the parks...the boat would be faster because of where it lets you off. Also, if you're feeling adventurous, you can walk from MGM to Epcot...it's about a mile or so and the path goes by the canal and the Boardwalk Villas. We did this last August...it was hot, but it wasn't that bad of a walk.

Also, enjoy Marrakesh! It's delicious!

Whoops--couple more questions for you...
First, if we take the boat to Epcot like you suggested, when should we leave MGM for a 6pm PS at Marrakesh? Is 5pm early enough to make it?

Also, I was kinda hoping that Fantasmic would be showing at 11pm, but I noticed that last year they did not have that late of a show after July 6. Does anyone know when the "late" show might be and how early I should arrive? (We really don't want to do the package)

The boat ride all the way from MGM to Epcot takes 1/2 hour. However, you could get off at an earlier stop (Boardwalk or YC/BC) and walk the rest of the way to cut a few minutes off that trip.

Isn't the boat ride about 30 minutes. I think some say it is faster walking.

It is a 20-30 minute walk from MGM to EPCOT (longer if you stop by the ESPN club to get refreshed).

Depending on whether there is a boat just leaving, you may be able to walk it faster.

If the last showing at MGM is at 9:00 or later, you shouldn't have any problem.

Last year they were open until 10:00 from July 3rd-9th, but the late show for Fantasmic was at 10:30.

So on the 7th, I think the late show will be at 10:30. Unless you have a terribly long meal you should have plenty of time to get to Fantasmic and wait.

We ate at 5:00 at Spoodles and it was quite a rush to get seated for a 7:30 Fantasmic. 'Course we wanted to be seated by 6:30 (that didn't happen - we were there about 6:45).

Marrakesh will be another 15 minutes further - by boat or foot. (The boat may be even slower if it just left when you get to the dock). Give yourself 40 minutes each way for travel time and two hours to eat. The nice thing about Marrakesh is that you will probably not have to wait 40 minutes past your PS time to get seated.
