Is location of parking lot a real inconvenience at VWL?

DH and I are considering buying into DVC. He really likes the look of VWL. However, I just can't get past the relative location of the parking lot to the Villas, especially compared to OKW. He's a big golfer and I just can't imagine him lugging his golf clubs to the car at VWL. It seems OKW would be so much more convenient for that. He's not so sure it will be a big deal, but I think it would become a real bothersome inconvenience after a while. Does anyone have any comments about this?

There's no denying that the VWL parking lot is a bit of a hike. But I do have a couple of suggestions.

1. Leave the clubs in the car. Why take them out?

2. If there is some reason to take them out (cleaning them?), then you still have free valet parking at WL. So you only have to "lug" the clubs up the short walk to the front of the main lobby. It's only a couple of bucks tip and on a hot summer day, that could be the best two bucks you ever spend!

If it's an issue still after considering the above, there is always the resale market for OKW. I know that for some people, the "walk out of the room right to the car" thing is a big deal. If you think you and DH might fit that description, then you might not want VWL for 40 years.

I believe that if you book tee times at a disney golf course they will send a car to the hotel to pick you up and drop you off, so I guess you could bring the clubs with you to the room and not have to worry about lugging them between car....

As Granny mentioned, the valet is great. Pull up under cover (great in the T-storms), pop the trunk, 10 minutes later the bell hop has the clubs at your door.

We have self parked and used the valet at VWL. We don't mind the walk deom rhw lot with empty hands. If I had to lug my bags and clubs, my bones would still be in the lot.

You could always get a resale through the timeshare store for OKW and have the golf course right there as well as your car. Points are quite reasonable right now compared to what DVC is asking.
