Is LGA in NY much worse than JFK?

We live about 12 min away from JFK, and are flying via the new Jetblue terminal to WDW in Sept. We do not have a return flight booked, though, because the fares are very high. LGA is a bit further, but will cost about 200 less for our Jetblue tickets. Car transportation back to our home will cost the same from either airport. The only other drawback I can see is that there is only one evening flight from Orlando to LGA, while there are currently several to JFK. Delta is less $, but we would prefer Jetblue (and wouldn't have to pay 15 for our first checked bag). Should I wait to see if the Jetblue JFK flights go on sale? I'm looking at Mon, 9/21. Doesn't appear that many (if any) seats are booked at this point. Wonder if they will cancel some of those flights....

I'd probably wait at least a month and keep trying to get the flight into JFK at a lower price. I fly JB often and the fares change all the time. The new terminal is nice

We have many employees who fly in and out of NYC on a regular basis. Most have lived in the City at one point or another. They usually prefer LGA over JFK citing too many delays through JFK. I've experienced it myself and have to agree that LGA is the better airport for avoiding delays. I will say that the new Jet Blue terminal in JFK is nice.

We've done all the NYC airports and while we usually end up with JFK for scheduling LGA is fine. They do not have a good food selection though. We got stuck in a terminal @ 6 am with only a newstand that wasn't even open. It opened about 15 min before boarding and pickings were SLIM.

We find the opposite to be true: more delays with LGA. Even when you hear about delays, LGA always has longer delays faster when there are problems in the area. I think it has something to do with LGA having only 1 available runway.
