Is Lego cheaper there

Hi All, this is so exciting, I can't stop reading all the posts for info and tips

How does the price of Lego in Anaheim compare with Aus prices? Many thanks

Great question as we are there next month and DS is a HUGE fan of Lego. We stayed at LEGOLAND in England last year and the prices for lego were about the same as here in Australia. Hoping it will be abit cheaper in the USA.

Sadly I didn't notice much of a difference in the pricing between here and the US or anywhere else for that matter. I did visit a Lego Store though, that you could fill a cup for a set price, if you play it smart you can work out better off! It was embarrassing though when DH spilled his cup all over the floor in the store trying to squish so many things in

Yes, Lego is cheaper in the USA compared to Australia, Europe and Japan.

We found hard to find 'extra' packs likes wheels, doors/windows, mechanical pieces etc cheaper in the large toy stores in Tokyo. A better option than paying postage from USA.

However we did find Lego cheaper in Hong Kong. Same type of sets available in Oz but no 'extras' to be found.

We have found in the USA there is a much greater selection of Lego types available at dept or toy stores. They also have extras like baseball or football team mini figures. You can fit a lot of Lego in a suitcase without the boxes-lol. Best prices for the Lego advent calendars - approx. $24. They also sell heaps more Lego branded clothing, stationery, scrapbook supplies, stickers, books and display cases than we have access to in Australia.

My DS saves his money all year round for shopping on vacation. We are known to travel way across cities to find the all important toy store that has his treasure. Each year he buys 10 mini figures on holidays in Bali where they cost just AU$2.90 (at a bookstore-lol). He lives and breathes Lego.

Lego looks cheaper on the american lego website. They also had some great sales in the past i noticed. You could order from online and have it sent to your hotel if you didn't want to go searching for the sets you want..

A lot of the big sets are significantly cheaper. Fill a cup is awesome (I hope to do it a few times next trip! ) but you can only fill with what's on offer, and it can be random (still, I love it!!). There are items available that are harder to get down here like boxed sets of minifigs sold under their education arm, those are much cheaper.

If there are bits you know you want, check out their pic & mix online where you can select parts for cents each. Postage to here makes it silly to purchase from normally, but I plan to stock up on what I want (for MOC building) and have it shipped to our hotel.

Yay cheap Lego!

I plan to buy one of the large Disney sets on my next trip, to put together and display in my Disney collection of course...

When we were there last the dollar was 1 for 1, and it seemed pretty cheap to me. I didn't think of taking it out of the box for transportation though And there were heaps of sets that I hadn't seen in Aus (or maybe you can just get them from specialty stores ).

Lego it much cheaper in the US! My son bought SO much lego whilst we were over there. The death star for example is $699 here. It's $399 there! Tax is 8% in anaheim so you need to add that to the prices you see on lego.com. There is a lego store at DTD but there is also a really good lego store at South Coast Plaza (there is a shuttle from Anaheim hotels return to South Coast Plaza that is $10 return, or $5 return if you have the 50% off coupon and kids under 17 ride free).

Toys R Us which is not far from Disneyland often has good lego sales. There is a target near by that has lego sales too but we found their selection to not be the best.

Another good idea is to join the lego club whilst you are there, so every purchase you make you get points. Then the points turn into $ value. So my DS would regularly go and make a purchase and they would say "you have $10 on your card or $25 on your card, do you want to use that" and they will take that $ amount off your purchase.
